stealing plans companions quest bug

I'm doing a quest for the companions
..Stealing Plans
We've heard runours of a silver hand lieutenant camped at treva's watch.If I can steal their plans we could track down their chief hideout.

I cleared out the watch and didnt find any plans , there was no quest marker before I entered the watch and there still isnt one..
Im like level 20 something and earlier in the playthrough I passed by this building and was ambushed by the bandits that guard the outside of it and killed them but didnt go insode at the time..
Now sometime later I got this quest.
Maybe it was because of killing the bandits before that broke the quest ??

Is there anything that can be done, thanks....

Killing those bandits is most probably not the cause. There are some issues with this quest, specifically when it concerns Treva's Watch. The Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch seems to resolve the issue. Otherwise look here voor other options: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Stealing_Plans

I'm using mods including the ussep

I'll go see aela maybe the quest item will be near her if not I'll use the console, I wont feel to bad coz I cleared the poi and the item wasnt there..

Well the console command didnt work , i think it might be valid because the console didnt show an error..
Maybe I have to be in Treva's Watch for it to work , I dunno, hmm.

Open the console and use the following command:

sqs cr10

Since you have accepted the quest stages 0, 1 and 10 should be set to 1.00. Stages 20, 100 and 200 should be 0.00 as you have not found the plans. Next the following command:

setstage cr10 20

and

setstage cr10 100

Do not use the command completequest as that may cause Aela not recognizing that the quest has been completed.

Unfortunately this didnt work, when I unput sqs cr10 the console gave this information
Stage 0:1
Stage 1:1
Stage 10:1
Stage 20:0
Stage 100:0
Stage 200:0
Stage 255:1

Nothing happens after each command setstage cr10 20 and cr10 100.

The quest stealing plans is still active.

I have taken another look at this quest in the Creation Kit. Stage 255 was added by USSEP and deletes the plans. You might be able to reset the quest with

resetquest cr10

Then check to see if all stages are set to 0:

sqs cr10

If all stages are set to 0, then use

setstage cr10 0
setstage cr10 1
setstage cr10 10
setstage cr10 20
setstage cr10 100

Hope this works for you, at least to get this quest completed.
