Golden Claw in Riverwood

Okay I am just starting the game and I have a golden claw in my inventory as I went through the temple. I am in riverwood and speaking to the guy and he is talking about the golden claw or the claw made of gold which I have but he isnt interested in buying it from me?

What am i doing wrong?

there should be dialog he rambles than you choose the option did something happen? then choose Oh you mean this claw then he he should take it off you.

"Find the Secret of Bleak Falls Barrow

Although you have found the golden claw, you cannot return it to Lucan until you find the secret of Bleak Falls Barrow"

You need to discover "the Secret of Bleak Falls" before you can return the Claw to Lucan.

THank you ever so much it was a dumb querstion if i had only done that very last bit and seen it, I would of completed it the first time around. Sadly I didnt. At least I am done this time and I accidentally found a necromancer for my trouble. I think he is for next time......LOL

I am so not equipped for dealing with him right now........LOL

You will find many things that you may wonder about in the game, Aphaia, and might not figure out how to do right away - but that's the wonder and the great thing about playing the game for the first time! So just enjoy it, because like everything, you only get to experience a first time once. Have fun!!!

Worse than finding one necromancer is stumbling across a second one then finally getting to your town and instead of trying to talk to the trader and give him the claw, I must of attacked him so now running from the village waiting for him to calm down and reset...LOL

Me thinks this is not a good day for this game.........
