Elder Scrolls Vs Fallout

Which is better? I say Elder Scrolls because I like fantasy settings more than post apocalypse. Also I believe New Vegas was the only good Fallout.

I also prefer Fantasy, so I would say Elder Scrolls. However, I have only played the 3d games, since Morrowind. Never played the first 2 Fallout or Elder Scrolls games. New Vegas isn't the only good Fallout game, but it is the best one.

Skyrim is my favorite game of all time with New Vegas being 2nd place. I would personally say that Fallout has a better series because I like 3/5 main games whereas with Elder Scrolls I only like 2/5, with that being said Skyrim is still my favorite and medieval fantasy RPGs have a special place in my heart. Sorry for the mouthful.

Well they may be the same for you, but sweet and savory a lot of people like one more than other.

I for one like Elder Scrolls WAY better than any Fallout.

I prefer Fallout 4 to Skyrim as a game, though, i couldn't tell you why. i just find myself in the Commonwealth more often than Nirn...

NV is the only (un)playable Fallout IMO.... it's the only Fallout i own that refuses to load any of my saves. *shrugs*
I can -sometimes- force it to, if i jump through hoops by starting a new game, but that doesn't work most of the time.

Well, are we just talking about Bethesda games, or do Fallout 1 and 2 come into the discussion? If fallout 1 and 2 count in the debate, then it's over. Fallout 2 is a master piece of video games and reaches a level of quality that the Elder Scrolls series could not even dream of reaching. These are games with much more nuances, possibilities and complexity of RPG mechanics. If we are talking about Bethesda games, then the victory is for Elder Scrolls with caveats: we have 2 really good Elder Scrolls games: Morrowind and Oblivion. Both require a certain amount of involvement from the player and are not shallow and superfluous like Skyrim. Skyrim and Fallout 3 are equally bad compared to other games in their respective franchises. However, Fallout New Vegas surpasses Oblivion and Morrowind as it revives many of the qualities of the old Fallouts within Bethesda's modern gameplay. So we are left with: 2 good games in Elder Scrolls - Morrowind and Oblivion, and a Super Good game in Fallout: New Vegas. In my opinion, it deserves a draw.
