Freeze in Whiterun
Hello! I'm having a problem that I can't solve. Unfortunately, this is the 5th game I've started to start clean, but I always run into the same problem. Within Whiterun the game freezes, clearly it is not a VRAM problem, since in FPS the game runs for me, but rather, you can see with the naked eye how it is difficult to process "something" that is ruining the game for me. I have some experience in using mods but not so much in leaving the game perfectly balanced, and I would like some assistance in this regard.
I would appreciate it if you could help me with the following:

1st: Let me know if you need anything more than the loading order to detect the problem I'm having.
2nd: Let me know if there are any of the mods I use that are incompatible with any other, are obsolete, or are known to be problematic.
3rd: Let me know if the Bashed Patch is still essential for proper functioning.
4th: Let me know if there is something important that I am skipping.

PS: I use the latest free version AE, latest SKSE, I have all my plugins clean with xEdit, automatically sorted with LOOT, deployed by Vortex with their respective FNIS fixes. And finally a Bashed Patch.
PDD: freezing has rarely happened to me in other places, but in Whiterun the freezing rate is almost 80%.
PSDD: I just want to play a clean game, I don't mind removing mods from the list if it would help get rid of the freeze.

It will be wet & cold causing that issue
Lux May 29, 2024 @ 10:25am
Why are you still using FNIS ?

This could be the cause, not all plugins should be cleaned.
First off, the master files and all CC mods can't be cleaned without causing problems (like this one)
Secondly, some mods require dirty edits in order to work, you need to check each mod to see if it can be cleaned.

Can you be more specific? Please D: why that mod and how.

Because Nemesis is too complicated to use. I don't understand it, and it requires go into the game folder. It should be more easy for players like me.
And the other reason is because I'm not using any Nemesis behavior mods, only classics FNIS.
Is that a problem? (seriously)

Sorry I might expressed myself wrong, I'm using a translator. I meant that ALL MODS THAT REQUIRED CLEANING according to LOOT have been cleaned, including RLO - IC Patch.esp which required manual cleaning of the records.

I read this already and does not seem to have nothing to do with any of my mods. But thanks for the suggestion.

Please response the quotes if can.

My guess is realistic lighting overhaul from your crash log, mainly exterior.
Shindig73 May 29, 2024 @ 12:58pm
The crash you describe is common with wet and cold. The screen just freezes. Try disabling it and walk around areas it often crashes. The cloaks are cool but you may have to sacrifice it.

Here's another from just now, just after killing Mirmulnir and take his soul, freeze...

Ty, I will try that too.

That sucks, will I need to restart a new game for disabling RLO - Exteriors and Wet and Cold? Or is safe to uninstall?

Maybe not a new game. First, disable w&c and any patches. Load game. It will warn you the save depends on w&c + patches. Ignore it and load. Walk around Whiterun where you get freezes. If it still freezes, you know to look elsewhere for the issue. I gave up on it ages ago.

A quick glance at RLO and it recommends a new game for version 5 or higher. Before you start disabling mods and killing your save, try a new game for testing purposes.
smr1957 May 29, 2024 @ 3:32pm
First, Wet and Cold is often accused of being at fault for things, when often it actually is not - and if it was, it would not be causing CTDs in just one localized area (I've had it in my game with literally thousands of other mods, and never once had an issue with it over thousands of hours - not saying it isn't possible, just that it is unlikely).

As to a Bashed Patch, it is absolutely necessary, as without it, a good number of things may not appear in the game (though this would not cause CTDS, it would just mean that there would be missing content due to conflicts). Use WryBash to make the Bashed Patch, and only check off the option for leveled lists - and nothing else.

The above two responses are right on the mark, and are absolutely right and the best suggestions - the rest are in many cases completely wrong and contain bad advice (even if the posters are sincerely trying to help).

Ignore what LOOT says when it comes to cleaning (and just about anything else, for that matter) - LOOT is a sorting tool, NOT a diagnostic tool, and it should only be used for sorting, not for troubleshooting.

As to troubleshooting your build, follow this general outline:

Is too much to read, that's the hole reason why I'm asking for help, don't wanna learn "troubleshooting", just wanna play. That's why I (and the 90% of SSE mod players) use LOOT.
I mean, I appreciate the help but you're not really helping me at all.
I'm a little tired of the modding community pretending that we're all modders so we can use them.

Version 5 of what...?
Like I said on the top, is my 5th fresh start. I am testing, but nothing works, that's why I'm here.

I will try this until freezing is gone.
(it seems the freeze is in everywhere, not only Whiterun)

I had the same kind of problem in january and it was a bad NPC face/head reference (Arcadia in my case). Thats why I linked that info. It's very bold of you to say everyone is wrong except you and what you think it's right, Florida guy.

Read the download instructions :steamsunny: It might be best to do a full vanilla wipe and start over if you can not get things working. SMR's guide might be long but it covers everything and best around. Wish ya luck.
Just remember the game engine saves baked files into your saves. So mods with scripts are always an issue adding and removing and why it is not recommended to test things this way.
