Can I NOT upgrade Special Edition on Xbox Series X?
Hi everyone. I know there are some Xbox gamers on here, maybe someone can help.

I guess this is a bit weird but I got the Special Edition of Skyrim that came with an upgrade code for the Anniversary Edition. I'd neve played on the Series X. I upgraded it but after playing a bit I noticed performance issues. I get slow downs here are there where the framerate struggles.

I gather the graphics enhancements come with the version that's "Optimized for Series X/S". To be honest I think I preferred how the game looked and performed on my old PS4.

So question one is; does any version you install on the Series X get optimized, or just the Anniversary Edition? If I bought another copy of the Special Edition but didn't upgrade to Anniversary would it keep the original graphics?

Question two is about the Creation Club content that unlocks with the Anniversary Edition. I don't want most of it, just Survival mode and maybe the backpack. Does it download and install everything automatically? I'd assume not but if I load my game and look under Installed Content on the menu it lists about a hundred things. They appear greyed out but so does the Adventurer's Backpack which IS installed. Edit: I think when I unlocked the Anniversary Edition it prompted me to download everything but I quit the game. But maybe it did it without prompting the next time I launched the game.

Anyway a weird post I suppose but I'd appreciate any help.

Cheers everyone.

Edited for clarity.

Cheers everyone.

The Anniversary Upgrade is nothing more than Creation Club content. Its not a graphics update or anything of the sort. Its ultimately no different than buying each individual CC thing with credits.

Thanks for your reply.

Which version is Optimized for Series X/S? The graphics have clearly been enhanced.
