It used to be an overhaul that rewrote the game, so you couldn't play Skyrim and Enderal at the same time, and if they didn't use the uninstaller that came with it, then they broke both Enderal and Skyrim.... There used to be hundreds of threads begging for help fixing Skyrim after they uninstalled Enderal..... It tends to linger on the memory.
The new manual version (2.1.0), however, directly from the mod page also supports Skyrim SE 1.6.640-1.6.1179.
OP should provide crucial information, such as how they installed Enderal, how they uninstalled it, and what doesn't work any longer.
one problem could be, that if it uses the .ini for the engine reads from the default directory, you're trying to run a modern .ini setup for an old version, that's tweaked to death, and regular skyrim is now unhappy about this. I would start there, see if your two .inis have datestamps of the day you installed enderal, and if so, rename them so the game creates fresh new ones. If the game starts, then edit the new ones as you see fit.
Question is, what did OP do to cause Skyrim not to run? More info is needed! For me Skyrim SE v1.6.1170 runs fine, Enderal SE with Skyrim 1.5.97 also runs fine. Only problem I have at the moment is that I can't use the Creation Kit for Enderal SE as it requires a different version.
