Somewhat unpopular opinion: Argonians are underrated and dont get a lot of attention in the community
Argonians are a very underrated race. Their abilities might be average, (besides the overpowered "histskin" ability) but argonians have about the best lore of any race in tamriel. (If you don't know the races lore very well, I will explain at the end.) Argonians have great lore, and is somewhat inspired by the Aztecs with their pyramids in the jungle, with many argonian settlements around the land. Also, the 4th era argonians are the 3rd strongest group in tamriel, and have had power, since they weren't very effected in the oblivion crisis. It is not just their lore, but how the argonians are a good idea for a race. Their lizards, meaning a different race/species then the typical elves and humans inhabiting the rest of the land. So very unique then. But you might be wondering that you can say this same about khajiits and why I once said that khajiits are a terrible race.

WELL THAT IS BECAUSE LIZARDS ARE MORE INTERESTING THEN CATS!

Yet I will get to the lore of the races.

1. Imperials: Inspired by Romans and control the empire. Their homeland is cyrodill, a rich area of tamriel. Imperials control the largest city in tamriel and are sort of the "typical" race of tamriel, however, their lore is still very good.
2. Nords: You definitely know about nords, because of skyrim, but nords are inspired by vikings and have a somewhat decent culture.
3. Orcs/ Orsimer: Orcs have very interesting lore, as they have been invaded many times by the Breton, and have only recently have been reconsidered as "people" and not just a wild beast.
4. Breton: Inspired by the "Brittany" region of france, and other nearby areas, bretons are humans, but also have some elven ancestry. They are known for having the oldest ruins of tamriel, and also having many groups inhabiting the area.
5. Argonians: I already told you
6. Khajiits: Basically Indian inspired cats who are outsiders to the rest of tamriel.
7. Dark Elves: Fire resisting elves from morrowind, who have been invaded by the argonians in the fourth era, but historically have been slaving the argonians, and are more racist then nords
8. High Elves: Tall mages who live in the summerset isles, and control the aldmeri dominion, and are more racist then Dark elves, and hate any race except for themselves.
9. Redguards: Dark skinned warriors from hammerfell, a land of sands, and also grasslands, and dry mountains. Were originally from yokuda, a different continent.
10. Wood Elves: Weird nature people who are a part of the dominion, and are dumb for supporting them. However, they do have interesting wars that have taken place in their land

Now I realized that half of this is the lore of the races. I also realized that the lore of the races took 25 minutes to write.

I like Argonians, got the most detail look. They seemed to have more work done on them graphically. It also feels fitting to make the dragonborn a lizard if you know what I mean.

it isn't half the lore..... it's a very brief summary of the lore, about 2 or 3 percent.
Each race has a body of lore, some of which was fleshed out more in ESO.
The problem is Bethesda keeps cutting stuff out of the lore, then acting as if it was never in the games.

I was referring to the amount of text being lore, and I know that it is a brief summary, and it only describes about 2% of the lore.

Never liked them and never will

I don't care about humanoid-lizards nor humanoid-cats in this game, not in terms of potential companions at least, so yea. Humans, orcs, and elves are all that I care about for potential companions.

Maybe if there was a single underwater dungeon in the game.... They would be more popular. They can breath underwater... yayyy
Argonians were better in Oblivion.
Not sure why I don't like them in Skyrim, although the lack of water based exploration and combat would be a factor.
