Cloth physics for cloaks and capes not working
I have the SMP and HDT SMP installed, so I don't know what's wrong.

You need a mod that enables physics for cloaks themselves. Its a big stack of required mods with required mods. I will add them to my game and give you input.

Oh... Just what i feared. Yeah I don't have the time or resources to download hundreds of mods just to have cloth physics exist.

the dependencies have dependencies, and so on. It becomes a rabbit hole of mods to install that bloats your load order and possibly ruins the game. Not Worth.

This is fair. People like me are happy with multi thousand mods. Also This is probably the most jank HDT SMP thing.

Also the cloaks with HDT SMP have a severe performance cost due to CPU usage when used on all npc.

Multi-Thousand? Do you have a NASA PC?

Currently i only have 200 but multi thousand is easy due to the sheer number of patches and mods that exist. Rebuilding entire modlist.

Also people merge mods like different tree and grass mods i think can it can end up 10 mods or more just for grass and trees if someone is goofy enough.

There is also first person camera mod so you can see your body and feet, one that makes a camera changed for conversations, one that makes it non static during moving/combat, one that makes camera always shake slightly, etc.

Its gets crazy very fast if you decide to just overhaul a certain aspect of the game in its entirety. Then this cloak and cape hdt smp, there are like 6+ mods that add capes/cloaks then artesian cloaks adds physics for them all you get my point it escalates VERY fast.

If you start making your own patches it can get way more complicated.

The download speeds on nexus are probably the biggest limit on mod count since the sites download speed is horrible.

Nope, that much should run just fine. Unless you mod absolutely everything to use SMP, or if you have a potato PC.

I mean its not a matter of everything its a matter of certain CPU with too many HDT SMP objects loaded at once. I had a 2700x and suffered severe drops with cloaks on guards or the HDT SMP tails. 2700x isnt potato its issue of the single thread speed. So far on my PC I have only lagged with nature of the wildlands enabled. (7800x3d and 3070ti)

The mod page explicitly warns against adding SMP to the guard capes.

I mean which one? I just did search for guard on faster HDP SMP and the artesian cloaks page and guard isnt said a single time. Also why would you want physics for capes but not for the npcs? At that rate you would be better with no capes.

Right here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/55030

The Issue is that the engine itself is also a bottleneck. It may handle some of the stuff being SMP-fied, but not too much.

I was making it confusing unintentionally i mean cloaks of skyrim HDT SMP on artesian cloaks page. Personally i have had no lag the page you posted is outdated anyway since Faster HDT SMP wasnt made then. (Mine moves more stagnantly than that one so that specific hdt smp might be way more intense i really dont know)

If you have a inordinately strong CPU it should be fine to run them on all npc's. I will try windhelm docks later and give input on that.

I think you'd rather hit an engine limit than your CPU limit, but feel free to experiment. I don't use SMP much since that stuff likes to glitch and then gets stuck in weird poses.

I havent really had any issues with that recently. It was really bad few years ago though.
