This game doesn't want to give me loot?!

Trying to do an old save before the Eye of Magnus quest so I can grab the Archmage clothes from Sevos's corpse, but he was phasing halfway through the damn ground and me hitting e would't let me take it, then whoop, he clipped FASTER trough the floor and into the void to despawn, stealing the chance to finish the College quests?! I tried using con commands in the Labarityian location to add into my inventory but the game said this "Complied script not saved!" WTF?!!?!??! While my last save before the eye quest was an hour ago, it's going to be a slog to go through that dawrf dugeon again.

The Arch-Mage's garments are not necessary to the questline. If your current quest is 'Containment,' you need to clear Winterhold of the magic anomalies. After which you report back to Mirabelle Ervine prompting the next quest 'The Staff of Magnus.'

If you really wanted the Arch-Mage's Robes, and the body did despawn, you may use the console command -
player.additem 10F570 1

It probably on every players to do list to get the uniques before the AE "patch". Plus, I think wearing the clothes BEFORE getting archmage rank is funny. Shame BGS didn't do it in morrowind wear wearing higher rank gear before getting the promotion to wear them earned you two warning and then a ban.

You don't get the robes from his corpse, he isn't lootable. You get the robes from the Arch-mage's room, which become yours after the questline. You could also have stolen them right after doing Saarthal.

You don't need to loot him to do the quest, and he also cannot be looted anyway.
