FSR 3
Do you guys think we could beg Bethesda to add FSR 3 to Skyrim? Apparently Starfield is supposed to be getting it soon. Would much prefer native support than relying on FSR from a paid mod.

What do you guys think?

Beg them to update again to break more mods? No thanks pal.

You can get a free FRS2 mod on nexus.

IIRC the free version doesn't work with ENB, the version that works with ENB is still paid. Native support would be better than having to rely on mods anyway tbh.

Can we please lay this ancient, crappy, overburdened and long since obsolete engine to rest instead? They should have retired it after Oblivion.

This is already the remastered version. I doubt Bethesda is going to rewrite the engine again. Assuming you've got an AMD card, just use Radeon Super Resolution[www.amd.com] instead.

I'm not even on reddit, you n'wah.
Bethesda needs to stop using this engine, or we'll be stuck with cities of a dozen NPCs for yet another decade.

Let's face it, the game will be updated again sooner or later and will break mods - they could at least add something actually useful then.

Mindoraan. Hind ahrk hahnu los stin, Dovahkiin. Draal drem.

Your hopes and dreams cost you nothing, but time. To always hunger for more is the nature of short-lived mortals. Everything else requires gold. Still, you will die while waiting for things.

What's the problem of paying someone a few bucks for something you want this badly?

If you really think you need FSR or DLSS for Skyrim then it might be time to update your hardware. The game is so old now that no recent graphics card will have a problem running it with 4K@60fps.

For the record I'm on a 6700xt, 5600x, 32gb ram. Most people playing modded Skyrim are not running the game at 4k 60fps because they can't. Newer hardware doesn't automatically bypass engine limitations and major performance killers like drawcalls. The DLSS/FSR mod were added in the first place for this reason. If newer hardware was the answer there wouldn't be as much demand as there is for FSR2-3/DLSS in Skyrim considering most people are running newer gen hardware these days according to Steam survey.

Try AFMF. Your 6700 XT supports it.

The limitations you speak of are hardcoded. The engine was tailored to a 1080p 60fps spec as that was most desired in 2016. Bethesda has all but exhausted much of it's internal resources trying to excrete Starfield like the discarded creativity it is. DLSS/FSR isn't going to cure something the engine simply cannot scale up to. No, it would require the product to become open source for such additions this late into the game with a product they can barely still give a ♥♥♥♥ about. Maybe you can convince them to add it via creation club for Bethesda bucks.

Personally I've never given a ♥♥♥♥ about 4k. I always thought it was a waste of system resources and often wonder why GPU's haven't truly scaled up to the standard yet. Say what you will, belittle me for not embracing a bigger number. I long for the day systems go back to not battling the f***ing air conditioner for temperature supremacy.

I can run the game easily with mods at 4K, and with an RTX 3060Ti. Do not make ♥♥♥♥ up like "most people can't". Maybe go easy with your mods when these bring down your hardware so much that you are now in need of FSR?! ...
