High Elf's have the best racial passive, they are the tallest and therefore the fastest. In a game where you run from one end of the country to another, this is important.

a fact that is immediatly negated the second you buy a horse.

I'm kinda partial to the Altmer race. It makes backgrounds and RP playthroughs more interesting.

If you just play a Nord you don't even have to question the paths the game takes you on, or your character's motivations. If your any race other than Nord it makes things more complicated.

Except for thievesguild or DarkBrotherhood quests. Those are straight up perfect for elven races or khajiit.
