Vampire not working
So I am on Skyrim SE downgraded from AE. I noticed that my vampire scripts were not working. I cannot turn into a vampire and none of the spells or passives are showing up nor do the feeding prompts show up. All I get is the vampire message saying the powers awaken. At first I thought it was my two costume races True Snow elf race and Lunari but turns out even my vanilla races are facing the same issue. I do use sacrosanct but even when uninstalling it the vanilla script seems to be the issue as even it will not work. Race compatibility has sacrosanct checked and the load order sorted correctly for it and even went as far to tryout different compatibility patches but still nothing. I am begging to think the base game scripts are ruined in some way but I really do not want steam to validate my skyrim and turn it to AE again. If anyone has an idea on what I can do to fix this please let me know your ideas and suggestions. Thank you.

Mods that change eyes impact vampire powers. It happened to me with the amazon race mod (maybe because that race was not contained in some code about vampires maybe?) the bummer, once a char is launched with another race... to late can't go back. if that is the issue.

good luck

I mean making a new save isn't a big deal but is it really any eye mod or eye mods that are supposed to change vampire eyes specifically? Not sure if I'm having that specific issue as I just removed all the eye mods related to vampires but still can't get vampirism to work.

Ae is just a pack of mods and not a version of the game. The game itself is se. So first figure out what you downgraded.

So i have an old backup of skyrim that I keep on a 7z that my current version is literally based on. On the 7z the vampire mods work just fine but on my currently used skyrim they do not. I have not updated any mods and have only added combat animations on my current build but nothing related to the vampires.

The vampirism stuff is the result of a race change. If you were a nord before, becoming a vampire changes your race from nord to nord vampire. Anything that modifies your race could result in issues coming up.

Thing is, the downgrader doesn't work perfectly..... never has....
People advising others to use it used to say it's not guaranteed to work..... that caveat is no longer being given out.

Perhaps it should be.....

Vampire mods usually change the save files. Checking the game files probably won't help you. As wrote above, try a new game. And find out which mod breaks scripts.

I did have this one major issue that steam caused. I had skyrim installed on my SSD but steam went ahead and installed skyrim again on my OS. I hadn't noticed it had done this until my saves started getting corrupted and thats when I noticed my vortex was trying to manage both of them. I have mostly fixed this and most of my stuff works fine now bar the present vampire script issue.

So are you saying to bite the bullet and switch to AE? Honestly I feel AE was just se unnecessary and should have just been a free dlc as apposed to an update it just ruined so many people's mod list and mine included.

Okay so this is still an ongoing problem but with some interesting finds. First I decided to run the better vampires bat file and it actually got Sacrosanct working as it should despite now actually get the error message about the vampirequest being messed with. I then uninstalled an armor mod I no longer use and made a new game and found Sacrosanct not working again. I went ahead and uninstalled it and decided to try better vampires to see if that would have a different outcome but it was more or less the same issue. Either I would not actually turn or I would turn but be missing spells and passives such as vampire drain. I then uninstalled Better vamps along with using the bat file remover and was back on just the vanilla vampire scripts but interestingly that one is actually working again. Before even vanilla was not even turning me but now it works with no actual issue with one exception I noticed. I was checking my passives and saw that I had all the normal resist disease and poison along with the weakness to fire and sunlight but I also noticed a frost resistance of 40% the first time i did this. I went and got infected and turned the long way and I saw the frost resist again but this time at 20%. Correct me if I'm wrong but bar the fire weakness all vanilla vampire passives are always at a set constant so I do not know what this is.
