They included a whole bunch of bug fixes as well.

Smoke and mirrors to make you think that when in reality all that wanted was the $ injection after the failure of their past games.

More and more Krap from Krapthesda. No longer the awesome game team. Just another brick in the wall of garbage developers in todays industry.

Braindead take, just saying.

Just another Beta who will stand under bethesda employees as they drip feed pee content gleefully into the lemmings mouth. More Mr Todd. MORE

Do you know what's interesting? The mods will be updated. But I noticed another problem. Every time I exit the game to the desktop, all third-party plugins are disabled and their sorting is canceled. This is the case in MO2.

Enter into console in steam (Individuality, wait for download complete between) and it downloads the downgrade files to the content folder in your drives steam install folder. Copy to Skyrim install folder and it will work, revert the update

Can use symbolic links if steam directory drive is full - But this is your only hope - Worked for me

Thank you kindly!

This worked like a charm! I just had to make sure my SKSE was the right version. Oh and I never used the Steam console quick one for others Windows Key + R then type steam://open/console.

Very good advice!

Google SKSE 1.640 and you'll see the Reddit post, use that version and every mod will work again

But yeah I feel you, I only installed the game the other day and finished modding it after a long break, It's weird how they always update the game at the worst possible time for me.

did that and the game still updated lol

SKSE have already updated a little while ago.
but the problem is that if you have installed the "Address Library for SKSE Plugins" mod you have to wait for the update there too to play it

Any idea how long that will take? I'm sitting 300+ hrs into a playthrough (about halfway) with 130+ mods and a game that won't launch.

Plus I don't even know if it can be fixed.

for those who needed to get back to version 1.6.640 BY STEAM and make your mod working again, follow theses steps

1. Press Win+R, paste: steam://nav/console

2. In steam console, paste:

download_depot 489830 489831 3660787314279169352

previous resources will download to [...]steamapps/content/app_489830/depot_489831

Wait for it to finish. Then paste:

download_depot 489830 489832 2756691988703496654

previous core resources will download to [...]steamapps/content/app_489830/depot_489832

Wait for it to finish. Then paste:

download_depot 489830 489833 5291801952219815735

previous exe will download to [...]steamapps/content/app_489830/depot_489833

Just copy the files/folders from those directories into your skyrimse folder and overwrite the "new" ones.

REMEMBER TO SET SKYRIM NOT TO AUTO UPDATE UNLESS LAUNCHED WITHIN STEAM! (since you will be using SKSE technically will never launch)

DON'T FORGET TO USE THE SKSE64 THAT WORK WITH VERSION 1.6.640 IF YOU DONWLOADED THE NEW VERSION of SKSE64

Here's the link of SKSE64 for 1.6.640:

this doesn't help the feeling at all if anything its even more annoying. Why wait 11 years to fix these problems?

Yes, I immediately deactivated the updates as soon as it happened, but having recently started playing it again I didn't believe that after years it would still be updated

although starting it with SKSE I think it will update anyway, since it also starts from steam

Isn't there a way to play without updating a game?
what i do is make a backup of the game to a different folder, update the game, and then launch from the backup'd modded game and it will run no problem unupdated. as long as steam shows the game is updated it doesnt matter where you launch the game from and if its an old build or not.

alternatively you can copy the back up over the updated game but it gets tedious when games update frequently. also you could just change the app data manifest number instead to show the game is updated without actually updating but thats another can of worms i dont feel like explaining.
