SE Crashing when entering the Courtyard at Castle Dour
I am having crashing issues every time I try to enter the courtyard at Castle Dour to speak to Captain Aldis about Angeline's daughter during No News is Good News. One of the quests to help 5 villagers in order to purchase a home n Solitude. The screen stays black with the audio playing in the background. The task manager won't even pop up because the game is still activated in the background and I have to go into main menu screen to be able to do a whole system restart otherwise I have to a hard reboot. I had to uninstall the game at one point months ago and reinstall it. The new anniversary edition came out is when I reinstalled the game. Since then I have wondered what happened to the Unofficial Patch in which it can not be found anywhere to be installed. I have completed 119 quests thus so far with a few glitches and bugs. Nothing too serious until now. I have checked to make sure my PC is up to date including drivers. My system is old enough that Windows 11 is not compatible. I really don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall nor have to start a whole new game. I had to restart my computer 9 times since last night 11/28/2023 because the game will not shut down. I did try using the console as a last resort to try to force a complete in the first stage and be able to continue on with the next stages of the quest. The console will not clear the stage of the quest so now I am stuck with an open quest that will never be completed. Is there any one else having issues with the game crashing in the same location spot and what can I do to either clear the quest and move on or play the whole quest without crashing?

You should be able to alt Tab out of the game and get to the Task manager.

There is an Anniversary Edition version of the Skyrim SE Unofficial Patch, you need that, it's still available though.

You don't need Windows 11. In fact Windows 11 seems to cause more problems with Skyrim, but that's second hand based on threads.

You probably need to state what (if any Mods) you are using.

Additional to what alexander_dougherty stated above, what are your PC specs?
Indeed I ran it for YEARS on windows 10 so that's no issue unless it's a really old OS
