The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

I Somehow Broke Training
I can't train with Companion trainers after completing that quest series.

For example, my Block is at 22, but when trying to train with Njada (who should be able to train to 70+) I get the error, "You must level up to train more," and the Times Trained This Level counter is 5/5. But I haven't trained this skill in many levels, let alone the current level of 49. Same with all the others in the various skills.

I don't run too many mods, but even with them all disabled the same problem occurs.
Unknown if this is related or not: SSE was working fine, but stopped, even though no new mods were added.

List of Mods:
- Unofficial Skyrim Special Ed patch, v.49
- Immersive Movement, v. 7
- A quality World Map, v.2
- Skyrim HD - 2k Textures - complete Full, v. 1.7
- Static Mesh Improvement Mod SMIM SE, v. 2.08
- SSE Texture Pack, v. 1.3
- Multiple Rings, v. 1
- Skyrim Script Extender, Anniversary (per guidance on that website)

Any help appreciated.

You can only train 5 skill levels per character level. Any given skill.
If the level counter is 5/5, it means you already trained 5 times in any skill, not necessarily block.

If you didn't train any skill at your current level, then it is indeed a bug. Did you or did you not train a skill at level 49?

It's a global counter, not a skill specific one.

If you buy 3 "One Handed" skill levels from Amren in Whiterun, and then another 2 "Light armor" ones from Grelka in Riften, that's your 5 levels. you can't buy 5 from both. It's 5 total.
You need to level up to be able to buy another 5 levels.

:steamthis::steamthis::steamthis: This is the correct answer to your query OP.
They are also not banked, it 5 per level only on that level. If you level up without using them they do not get saved.

Also, block is one of the easiest skills to level, I would not waste training points on it. At level 49 you should be sufficiently powerful enough to take on giants. Giants are the perfect training partners for Armor and Block as you gain exp vs the damage you take and giants hit relativity hard. It should take no longer than 20 minutes to max block using a pair of giants, even from 22. I would suggest using a one-handed sword to block, you want to take the most damage possible while still blocking.
That's it, I didn't realize it was global. So much for trying to level up faster at the higher end of the level scale. Thanks all!

Depends on which difficulty you play on as on the last 2 your more likely to get one to two shot and often want a follower to tank for you, meaning armor and block levels slow since those skills need the high level and perks so you don't get squished before you have high health.
