While not based off the 1130 update: below are two of my favorite written guides for MO2 in English. They provide links for all mods with step by step instructions, along with pictures when necessary for the FOMODs (the menu that comes up you make selections).
NOLVUS: https://www.nolvus.net/guide/asc/setup
STEP MODIFICATIONS: https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/SkyrimSE:2.2.0
The NOLVUS option also can be set up to auto install as mentioned above in the first post. STEP is a much easier to manually install, as much fewer mods are required.
Some of the mods don't work due to the update and may take awhile for guides to be updated to the new version.
- Every player has his/her own mod list to play with and once you find which mods you want in your game, is because you investigated those mods to the last every single detail and you also tested them in-game.
What does ultra detailed modding means for you ? Does that means that you want someone to give you the mod list with all the pro/cons or installation details, compatibility issues, dependencies, etc ?
I do not know if you can find that but I would suggest to you, to read every single mod that you want in your list : description, posts and bugs report.
My personal rule is to : read, read, read and read ... and if I find out that some players are having issues or there are a lot of bugs that have not been addressed or fixed by the author, I won't download that mod at all.
For me it is important that the author answers our questions, addresses it all bugs and stay on top of his/her mod all the time, otherwise, bye bye mod.
Not one told me ever what mods to install. I have learned from scratch and from my own errors but if I can suggest something, I would say to you to download/install mainly from :
- MOST ALL TIME
- MORE TRENDING .....
... and read, read, read and read .... and test. Install the mod and launch the game, if it runs fine, continue and repeat. Probably you would create a mod list to test your entire game and if so, you will have your own list ready for a different playthrough the next time.
Another rule, if you install a mod and you do not like it or if the mod is breaking your game, do not uninstall it mid game. Simply DISABLE the mod in VORTEX and continue.
VORTEX is your best friend to download / install mods. I cannot vouch for MO2 cause I never used it but if you go with VORTEX, you would have only to donwload the mod and VORTEX will install it, deploy it and sort your mods accordingly. If there are some incompatibilities between mods, VORTEX will ask you to choose which one will lead and which one will not. Very simply process and very effective cause I have been using VORTEX since it was out, and I've never had any problem at all.
Good luck and happy gaming.
Thanks a lot for the link ! But I don't have the config required for Nolvus :)
Thank you very much for having the time to answer and give me such a detailed answer !
I have watched a few videos from Gamer Poets, and this man explains things so clearly :))
And the guide seems very great as well :)
Have fun too !
Thank you so much for your answer !!
Yes that exactly what I meant : a YB guide with "installation details, compatibility issues, dependencies, etc" :) But I haven't found any MO2 guide like that !
You're right ! Vortex seems so much more user-friendly than MO2, and I might usew Vortex in the end :)
These are super precious tools : reading / and only select very popular mods :) I will try to apply that through my modding journey ahah
Thanks again ! And I wish you a great modding time !
Thanks for your answer !!
Oh you're right ! I wish they are going to update the game soon :)
Regarding Nolvus, I don't think that my RTX 2060 will be enough ahah
But I found a video showing the game with Nolvus : it is just AMAZING ahah
Try the step guide if you are just trying to learn about the MO2 and the various tools. I believe it was less the 150 mods and might take you a day if this your first time using everything. It's a solid base that gives a lot of room for additional mods. Think it was around 70 active esps, and goes through xedit, bethini, and dynDOLOD applications. Wouldn't be surprised if they had a 3.0 version in the works with the game update.
Oh that's so cool ! 150 mods seems to be a solid beginning for me :))
Thanks a lot, I appreciate !!
but my 2ts about some MO2 youtube guide modding Skyrims ..
it can help to undestand how works MO2 but you'll be spend more time to fix their guide xD.
to be honest if you'e new on modding just use Vortex manager , more friendly ,
what those youtube guide don't tell us , player ..?
usually modding some Beteshda games we need to be aware of this
1) wich build of the game you'll be modding ..?
to resume no all mods works with Syrims on GoG , steam , Skyrims AE or SE
2) before modding your game with some texture mods , you'll need to know if you're using any enb or not
3) before DL any gameplay/texture ..mods , usually Beteshada game modders use some ressources/tools , this the first to check
as example , Patch community fix , script , framework for animation , ..or any other framework :)
4) The Load order requirement
on nexus there's some good guide about this
to resume if you're using 2 mods A and B , if you want your mods B modify mod A , you need to put first mod A ..
usually all modders tell us the load order !)
5) compatibility
some mods can works togeteher , some not
mods no up to date , missing patch fix mods , wrong version of the mods
( usually when a mods need some tools/framework be sure it may brake ..)
at the end
even after years of modding your game , there's no garantie that works :)
just start small , use mods that know for any issues .
create misc profils on your manager MO2 or Vortex and add step by step your mods .
Hello ! Thank you very much for your answer !
Yes, you're right : I should start with a little modlist, and then try something bigger ! It's wiser ahahah
And thank you veryyy much for that list of precious advice regarding the main modding issues !! That's very very cool and useful :))
Oh, and you're right, Vortex seems to be the best for beginners like me ahah
Thanks again :))
