Black Face Bug

I know this has been discussed before, but how does one get rid of the dreaded "black face" bug?

My character's second in command, Kaidan, looks as those he fell face first into a soot pile!

This can work sometimes but isn't a replacement for going in and fixing the load order issue causing it. Click on the NPC in the console, check its base ID in xEdit and see what conflicts pop up.
