Rumors about modders selling their mods to Bethesda
Yes, ladies and gents, there is a rumor already and rumors most of the time are true. Bethesda is buying out modders. Soon, all those mods that are essential for modding this game, will probably be gone and if we need them, we would have to pay for and that is something that I will never do.
If that is implemented, good bye Skyrim ... I do not care honestly cause I already played this game during 11 years. Nothing in this life last forever, everything that start, must end one day.
I also have played Fallout 4 since it was released and I really do not like Starfield ... so, it seems to me that if this continue, I will quit and move on to much better games out there.
I hope this does not happen for all of those who are now starting to play this game, the new generations cause I do not think this will affect old farts like me.

As Bethesda only approves originals in their verified creator program, that won't happen. Can't monetize mods which were already available elsewhere.

You have a source you can post here? Pure speculation at this point. Big if true.

"Creators can put up their own Creations for players to enjoy, or even apply to the Bethesda Game Studios Verified Creator Program to set prices for their Creations. That’s right: become a Verified Creator and you could earn a royalty for each of your Creations sold within Skyrim Special Edition."

Just create a new version or rename it completely.

Their FAQ[creations.bethesda.net] luckily covers this under what can be sold.
Creations must be all-new to qualify for release. You cannot re-purpose older releases – or work by other authors, unless contracted.

Hey guys, its not like the Mod from Kinggath is essentially just the mod "Lawmaker".
Noooo. What gave you that idea?
Man ♥♥♥♥ Bethesda and everyone who supports this

So a Skyrim "Creation" has to be unique to the Skyrim creations store? That is good if true, I hope there is some quality control happening as well, I've enjoyed some of the older Creation Club content.

On the subject of modders getting paid, isn't it about time? Who wouldn't want to get paid for what they love doing?
minidobrev 6 DIC 2023 a las 2:26
paid mods? that's an L move from bethesda. no one with a single brain cell will not tolerate and be okay with this. as for myself, i won't be spending any money to these paywalled stuff that is completely against the nature of skyrim modding community. but i'm sure there will be tons of fanboys who will support this hideous decision of BGS

'Older releases'

So SkyUi 5.2 = Old release

SkyrimUI 1.0 = New release

GG EZ
Re-purpose = not happening

Ideal time to return to a previous game version and not depend on programs that update their games without consent.

I had been playing for about 5 days after a lot of years without touching the game, precisely because of the new Bethesda releases, seeing everything that the community offered in my absence, I gave it a chance and loved the content and missions of the community and I already had my mods prepared with a version of permadeath.

I think that for old players of this game like us, it is time to modify it to our liking and keep it well stored, before Uncle Tod and Microsoft finish blowing up their work.

Good for them. Have you ever donated anything to any of them when they've provided a link to do so?
If not then you can't complain. Everyone has to eat and not everyone has a steady income.

I'm happy paying for CC mods. Did so before and will do so again, Amen

For old timers like me and much others, we know what to do to keep it running if we want to.
As I said, I have options, either I discontinue playing the game or just do some tricks and continue playing it in the way I want to. I won't pay for any mod. Period.

But, for the new generations of players this is a bummer not for the old farts.
Whatever the case is, I think that Bethesda has something else under its sleeve that has not been revealed yet. I do not believe that the whole thing that we are seeing now is just going to affect people who play with consoles. Eventually this could extend to PC and regardless of our own opinions, we all know and we all agree that Bethesda always is looking for money.

If any modder accept a job from Bethesda to become one of their developers for this game and the next Elder Scroll VI, perfect. I am happy for them.

If you are a player and would like to pay for mods, perfect, continue doing so.

For those who think that they will continue playing this game and other future Bethesda's games with free mods, not perfect .... it could go south eventually. Why ? Because now Bethesda is under Microsoft umbrella and Microsoft is an alligator; they only want our money and Bethesda must obey and follow that trend. Business, business and more business and business means money. When Bethesda cared about our feedback ?
They never did, they never fixed Skyrim and still today is has a lot of flaws. So if you believe this is an innocent move from Bethesda, you are probably a very naive person but hey, to each its own.

As I said, I do not care if they charge for mods and destroy all the free modding community. I already played this game long enough and I have no intention for the moment, to play any game with paid mods at all. But I will be very sorry for those new players that just had a taste of free modding and now they are facing something potentially different.

Even if modders are being bought out, one of the stipulations of the job is that they are NOT allowed to replicate mods that are up already. If they make a 'creation' it needs to be made from scratch. So say an armor mod was on Nexus and the creator wanted to put it on the marketplace they'd have to create a new model and textures from scratch, they can't just take it down fron nexus and plop it down on the marketplace.
