Enter into console in steam (Individuality, wait for download complete between) and it downloads the downgrade files to the content folder in your drives steam install folder. Copy to Skyrim install folder and it will work, revert the update - Download crack so you never have this again and you are golden! Beth promoting piracy for convenience but okay.
Can use symbolic links if steam directory drive is full - But this is your only hope
Yep, so hell with them and the horse Todd rode in. Not like there is a lack of games to play. For older Bethesda titles, I think on GoG you can block updates completely and even revert to old version.

literally every other game in my steam library is made by people who don't go out of their way to break their games so forgive us if we weren't all paranoid enough to expect this 12 year old game was going to be given a UI update that's intrusive enough to break basic functionality
