I had to download your update and now I have updated all my drivers which were fine for Starfield by the way. I uninstall the Vanilla now mind you and reinstalled. I have done everything you recommend and I get the Bethesda games then it crashes every time I can't get the thing to open to play. I have tried login in to your website but due to my email being long you all cut off the M in com and guess what I can't log in to let you all know You all are really upsetting me. I have many of your games and are about to uninstall all of them and Blacklist you from my play time. Meaning no more money from me after over 20 years or more of supporting your company. This is so disappointing.

What I had to do

Enter into console in steam (Individuality, wait for download complete between) and it downloads the downgrade files to the content folder in your drives steam install folder. Copy to Skyrim install folder and it will work, revert the update - Download crack so you never have this again and you are golden! Beth promoting piracy for convenience but okay.

Can use symbolic links if steam directory drive is full - But this is your only hope

From what I read this is blow back from Starfield - Basically every game under the company will receive updated creation content regardless of breakage or pissed of folks

Im still on 1.5.97 Skse. Updated the game then replaced all the new files with my modded backup files. Works nicely.

Yep, so hell with them and the horse Todd rode in. Not like there is a lack of games to play. For older Bethesda titles, I think on GoG you can block updates completely and even revert to old version.

literally every other game in my steam library is made by people who don't go out of their way to break their games so forgive us if we weren't all paranoid enough to expect this 12 year old game was going to be given a UI update that's intrusive enough to break basic functionality

I haven't opened it but I know it's going to burst, my perfectly modeled Skyrim system in permadeath mode, because of things like this I stopped playing Skyrim at one time, it's funny how companies play the same trick on us. Just look at this and the release of ark.

I clicked the don't update button - It changed back to auto update on a steam update. ;) I was able to use the steam console on the right side there to download past Skyrim Files and in the progress broke the auto update for the game. Win win in my books lol

Yeah, I must be stupid because I uncheck a box in games I don't want patched. That's me. I'm dumb like that.
