How to get shadowfoot sanctum?
I know you can purchase it from the bartender in the ragged flagon, but the option wont show for me. Do I have to progress through the thieves guild missions to a certain point?

no, I forget how I bought it, but it is independent of the thieves guild.

IIRC you need an excuse to be in there and talk to the Thieves Guild members. Possibly retrieving all the journals from Ansilvund will work; normally that is a quest offered if you're an actual member of the Thieves Guild, but having quest dialog available might override his gruff dismissal of non-members.
