It's just who she is ... seriously.
So yeah you're not as powerful as the game tells you if you try to go off the rails of Skyrim theme park train
en.uesp.net/wiki/skyrim:console
Has nothing to do with her being a woman. The school you went to must need donations if they couldn't teach you how to read properly. Go through the original post again. Sound it out if you must to better understand it.
The issue is that it is a despicable character that there is no option built into the game to give her any form of consequence that would be satisfying to the player. And though the game is not a pure power fantasy, it does give a decent amount of illusion to that fact. This one character puts a fly in the ointment as it were.
Haha, right, but none of them are as insufferable and arrogant as Maven.
That doesn't solve anything. If I just removed her Essential tag and incinerated her like she deserves, it would simply break a bunch of quests and give me a single ragdoll like any bandit I kill on the roads. What I needed with this character is actual roleplaying, something like teaming up with Mjoll and taking the hag down so that it hurts her ego first and foremost. I might not even want to kill her, I just want to demolish her entire criminal empire and then get a dialogue option saying something like "Next time think twice before insulting a master mage in dragonscale armor" or such. This would require a full questline though, and as theo put it, the Skyrim theme train doesn't go that way.
Or hell, I might have just joined the Thieves guild and told them "change of plans here, we're no longer licking Maven's boots, we are taking over her businesses directly, because she needs to go down."
I know, but at that point I was already roleplaying the enthusiastic young thief who just joined up, so I wanted to show Brynjolf that I'm way better than Vex and I can do the job perfectly and without a hitch.
But ... that really depends on other circumstances as well. I've had a luck to not experience it myself but there are stories of others that have gotten a dragon attack on the moment that they broke in. This led to all beehives burned down.
Yeah, I don't like Maven as well. As Lux has said, use mods to find a way out :)
After a brief search, you can use these two
- Be the High King (a hilarious one) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4496
or
- Have thieves guild be a Robin Hood group https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10745
That gives you an option to tone down Maven
