Finally installed DynDOLOD
After putting it off months (years?) dreading the day or two of learning/troubleshooting, I finally bit the bullet.

After ~30 minutes following a dated tutorial it was up and running.

Looks amazing. My only complaint(ish): Using a DLSS upscaler prevents me from using DOF, and the new clear horizon seems weird because of perfect focus near and far. That's a compliment to DynDOLOD though.

Posting to tell anyone who looked at it and said, "yeah right", that's it's not that bad and totally worth doing. If you're on a potato you can install it low rez for a performance boost. If you have extra performance you can increase the rez for beauty. In either case distant objects no longer flicker or look generally artifacted or ugly and it's very noticable.

Yeah I eventually tried it out a few months back too.

Unfortunately I didn’t share your positive experience.

I followed the install/set up tutorial perfectly but when I ran it I got a TON of errors and warnings.

As I sat there looking at the wall of text and having no idea where I should even begin in order to fix things…I just said “♥♥♥♥ that noise”, uninstalled it, and have been okay continuing to live without it lol
Begin at https://dyndolod.info/Messages, which are linked through the summary of messages shown at the end as explained at https://dyndolod.info/Help/Summary-Of-Messages

Most of them are problems with your mods that it detected which will exist whether you use DynDOLOD or not. I had only two LOD related. I clicked the link that explains them and the only danger was I might see some of the type of Z clipping that is always there without it. In other words, those errors meant it can't completely help me in that one mod added bandit camp.

I had pages of errors from the AE creation club content, the same errors LOOT always gives me, which are supposed to mean I need to clean the mods with xEdit. But I never do.

Ah, I assumed those were errors specifically related to LOD, not just a general list of errors and dirty edits.

I guess yours could be different than mine, but if you try it again you should maybe try to decide.
