First, try walking away from the city. You can walk toward Dragon Bridge. Once you are far enough away from the city, and the battle music has stopped, check the map and see if the icon has returned.
Another way is to walk from the city down to the carriage. Take a ride to a city with a carriage (Whiterun, Riften, or Windhelm). Then, check the map to see if the icon has returned. If not, purchase a ride back to Solitude.
The first is caused by a bounty having to be paid to the Solitude guard when entering the city (siding with Stormcloaks). This will bypass the battle and continue to the confrontation with General Tullius. When leaving the city, Ulfric and the other Stormcloaks can be found waiting outside waiting for battle, the door is locked, and the map icon removed. The only fix is to reload a save prior to the battle, clear the bounty, then proceed with the battle as planned.
The second is after Ulfric's speech, Solitude and the Blue Palace map icons will not be present. You would either have to wait at another city for a few days, or reload a previous save.
Additionally, many Civil War bugs can be corrected by using the Unofficial Skyrim SE Patch. If you don't currently have this, it is recommended to install it. Note, this will not retroactively fix the quest and you would still need to reload to a save prior to the battle.
If the quest stage is stuck and/or hasn't completed, you may attempt to complete the questline using a console command. Make a save prior to using any command so you may return to it if the command doesn't work.
First, open the console by pressing the tilde key (~). Type: getstage CWSiegeObj then press enter. Close console with (~).
If the stage is a number less than 9000, the quest is not complete. You would then open the console again and type: setstage CWSiegeObj 9000 then press enter.

If so, the missing marker is only on the main save. You would have to reload to before the battle to gain it back. If some time has passed and you are unwilling, or if the save doesn't exist, you will just have to resort to traveling to Katla's Farm and walk from there.
Is the stage number 9000?
Based on the research, the map markers may return after waiting at least 7 in-game days. Sometimes, the number of days can be 14, or as much as 30. This is no guarantee that it will work.

One of the issues with the Civil War quests is that multiple points rely on dialog to be completed in order for the next quest to queue properly. This is especially so with the Battle for Whiterun and either of the two capitals. I do know that with Solitude, once you reach Castle Dour Tullius and Ulfric banter back and forth. Then the fight ensues with a defeat and your choice whether to kill him or let Ulfric do it (same thing happens if you choose to side with the Imperials). Then, another speech with the victorious troops. Once you are back in Windhelm and check in with Ulfric, there is more dialog about the end of the war and how the Thalmor will react. All of these speeches and moments of dialog need to happen in order for the quests to queue.
It's unfortunate this happened and you have progressed so far to not be able to complete alternate quest lines. There is always a next time.
Yeah I think I have never seen this dialogue, very nice, well I'm just gonna revert the civil war with and old save file, but thnx tho
Then travel as far away from Solitude as possible and wait 30 days, the console command speeds up the time: set timescale to 20000
standard is: set timescale to 20
then solitude should have reset itself.
