Modify the FPS without bugs?
Hello everyone.
I'm trying to change some commands in My Documents and change the game's nividia settings. In the following video he explains it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Bs-odC8Yhg&list=LL&index=1

It looks perfect and runs smoothly and best of all it doesn't affect the physics too much. But the problem is that the NPCs go too slow, and when they run it is as if it were on ice. If this could be fixed it would be wonderful.

Does anyone know how to modify it to more than 60fps without altering the physics of the game?

you can't, because it's tied to the physics, the script timings, NPC behaviours, things inside the engine you don't see.

Modders have managed to fix the physics side of the game, but not the internal, unseen stuff.
You can guarantee if someone had done it, it would be the most used mod in the history of Skyrim, but in 11 years no one's managed it...

I wouldn't recommend it, but if you are really determined to uncap 60 fps, then you may be looking for https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/34705

Use it at your own risk.

As Liquid Inc already wrote it's tied to physics, etc. Nothing has changed since Oldrim, except the game engine being recompiled with Visual C# 2019 to a 64-bit version. Havok engine, Papyrus VM, etc. are still the same. As a fellow old fart says: "Your game, your way!"

SSE Engine Fixes does it without issue.

Running at a capped 144 FPS, zero issues.

Well, unless your playing for a few hours max and then restarting your character, i honestly can't believe that.. Not saying it's not true, but zero issues? That's quite a stretch...

Personal experience of trying that ended pretty quickly with things going wrong, especially in the civil war quests, and Bleak Falls Barrow ended with some very odd results!

I can't imagine doing much more than running about killing people with something like Po3's mod to remove the essential status. Doing the MQ's though? Good luck...

Sounds like a load order issue to me.

Not saying running the game at 144 FPS will never cause any issues, but I am yet to encounter any issues that are related to framerate. Completed several questlines on one character, no crashes or bugs to speak of.

As for the civil war... well that quest is a mess even in vanilla.

With only the very base mods, it shouldn't have been. it was only a test though, i wouldn't dream of doing so on my current mod list. Far too script heavy to even attempt such a thing.

Within 15 minutes of that test save i had a flying mammoth outside whiterun. Not everyone will encounter those things ofcourse, and the PC may make up for some of the difference, some won't even notice the problems building up, but they'll be there all the same.
My save lasted around 8 hours before it became completely unplayable. For me, it was just to see how far it would go. Nowhere near long enough.

Usually it's NPC pathing and dialogue that breaks first, along with the flying creatures, and shops opening at the wrong times (Also happens if you have too lower timescale). Scripts not working so triggers don't fire, or quests flat out don't complete. There are so many other things that go wrong too...

Some can get away with playing it for short periods without issue, others won't even get past Helgen. It's why it's always said "Lock to 60". That way it will work.

If there was a mod that fixed everything? I'd use it for sure, but a physics fix and a FPS unlocker? it's like sticking NoS in the family car. you can do it, but it won't last long...
Welp, honestly the only issue I've encountered on my current modlist (500+ mods) was claw doors occasionally refusing to open, but that's usually fixed by a save reload.
Other than that? Nothing. 'cept maybe the occasional CTD but let's be real here, you get that in vanilla, too.

Your problem might be that an existing mod already alters the physics of your game and this is why you are seeing these problems. Some mods simply assume a maximum of 60fps for historical reasons. So when you are already playing the game with quite a few mods and then in the middle of a playthrough start to go beyond 60fps can you ruin your game. Some mod authors do this, because they take shortcuts or because they have no way to test for compatibility with high fps and so do not care whether their mod works with more than 60fps.

If you want to play with high fps then get rid of any mods that replace animations, change physics, or are otherwise known to make complex changes to the game. Keep it simple and stick to texture, audio, and bug-fixing mods.

SSE Display Tweaks is your only best bet.
