Can't start the ebony blade quest.

My understanding is you talk to the innkeeper in Whiterun and ask about rumors and she gives you the quest. But I've talked to her repeatedly and that quest never comes up. Am I missing something?

Where are you in Terms of the Main quest. I think....THINK. You need to have completed Dragon Kill at the western Watchtower and been Summoned (but not need to have gone) by the Greybeards.

Again, I could be wrong.

Also make sure you have done Hulda's Get Firewood quest.

You need to have completed Dragon Raising and be level 20.

Didn't get Huldas get firewood quest. I'll do that and see if she gives me the ebony blade quest.

I would go with Rez Elwin's recommendations as well. I think I have only managed to trigger it once and I was using Jay Serpa's Mod The Whispering Door - Quest Expansion. Though thats not required. But it may have facilitated.
