Take a look at dawnbreaker or bloodskall and see how their effects are handled, might be something useful there.
If you haven't take a look at Nexus forums Creation Kit Sub-Forum[forums.nexusmods.com] there has been a lot of talk of weapons over the years, a search should being up something usual.

Will do. Thank you!
I'm working on it. Everything that I want on it is working except that one thing. I've created the magic effect and made an enchantment out of it to go on the weapon. No idea why I can't get it to show up as an enchantment.
Just an update, I have created the Stormbreaker to do lightning damage, cast chain lighting on most hits, and give the player a shock storm effect. On a critical hit (not a normal critical but a running crit) causes a big impact and summons a lightning storm that randomly strikes enemies (t3 Call Storm).
The only issue I'm having is my lightning cloak visuals aren't showing although the damage is. Again, it's a powerful weapon but it's made for Legendary play since that's all I play on. I tweaked it so it allows me to still have epic battles and not one shot killing everything.
I also added some cool effects. When picking the weapon up you here a faint thunder rolling. Putting it down makes a louder sound like rolling thunder in the distance. It crackles with lighting while on the ground or being held but makes no spund sheathed. This is my very first CK created weapon and took a lot of learning. Thanks for helping.
