How Can I Fix My Growables?
So, I'm using a long list of mods for growing plants for cooking and alchemy but I'm having some weird issues. I have oranges, bananas, pumpkins, turnips, mushrooms and all kinds of stuff. I also have every required patch for what I'm using.

The problem is that when I plant some items they grow into a completely different plant. For example, when I plant red apples they grow into onions. I was looking into how to fix this myself so I tried to use xEdit to combine all the plantables into one mod. I must've done it wrong because it didn't help. Does anyone know how to do this that can share the steps with me or provide a link to where I can find this info?

According to the guide, these are the same steps you first showed me how to make an esp. Does that mean that the esp I made is already a patch? If so, it's already at the end of my LO and nothing should be overwriting it.

Yes - it should have just the two form lists in it and should be at the end of your load order. but you need to make sure that any mod that has those two form lists is also included in that and that everything is in order and matches and that each item is in the same numbered position.

If there is just one extra item in a list, or one item omitted, it can throw of all those items below it so that they do not match - and then what grows will not match what is planted.

So, I've discovered that all my flPlanter/flPlanted lists match with 141 items that are all in the same order. The patch is at the end of my load order. Inside the game, I removed then replanted items. Do I need to start a new game for my new list to take effect?

Ok, I'm going to load my entire load order and look for those lists in each plugin again. Maybe I overlooked one.

EDIT: My Hearthfires list doesn't match. There are a LOT of items that say Error: Could not be resolved. I found this before but thought I had made a mistake. Both lists still has the item and the matching LNAM-FormID# but for some reason has these red lines in between the green ones. I should be able to remove all these red ones since they are all duplicates now anyway, right? That would make all plantable lists match with all the same items.

No - a new game is not necessary- once the form lists are fixed, then you will see the proper items growing. Also, when combining the lists from mods, do them in order, adding the unique items from each succeeding mod to the bottom of the list in the patch.

Yes - that is right. Delete any "Error: Could not be resolved" lines, Those are probably shifting the positions of the individual items and causing a mismatch.

When the form list are done properly, there should be no empty lines and everything should be either green - meaning that they are the same as vanilla records, or yellow, meaning they are not vanilla records but they are not conflicting with anything.

And yes, when it comes to those two formID lists, things can get confusing, and it may take a while to get it all sorted.
smr1957 19/mai./2023 às 21:04
Maybe this will help. These are my FormID lists as they appear completely in xEdit - as you can see, the last mod - the one furthest to the right - contains all the items from the previous mods' FormID lists. When you are done, yours should look generally similar as to appearance (even if the individual items are not the same).

The important .esp is the last one - as that will contain all the items from all previous mods.

So I went through all my plugins again. Out of the 372 plugins, eleven of them have the flPlanterPlantedFlora and flPlanterPlantableItem lists. They all have matching LNAM-FormID lists at #141 with no red.

Going through these plugins this last time I noticed that some of these plugins have lists with the same plantable items but they are listed as something other than the flPlanter lists.

For example, under Complete Alchemy & Cooking Overhaul.esp under FormID List it also has a list called CACO_AllIingredientsFormlist. That list has over 316 plant items on it and it is compared to CACO_Beyond Skyrim Bruma_Patch.esp and CACO Rare Curios Patch.esp. These three lists do not match each other and they don't match my flPlanter lists. These lists weren't mentioned before. Should I do something with these too?

There are other lists onder a few other plugins as well. CACO Beyond Skyrim Bruma_Patch.esp has a list called flPlanterPlantedFloraFertilized list in addition to the CACO_AllIngredientsFormlist and the two flPlanter lists. What do I do with these other lists? They are the only things that don't match and some of their items are red.
smr1957 20/mai./2023 às 6:01
Those other lists should not effect what grows. But, if the form listed of two different have the same naame, and there are conflicts between them, then you would have to make a patch (or, include those lists in an existing patch), so that they are not in conflict, with one overwriting the other.
Now, for example, with CACO and Beyond Skyrim Bruma, since there already is an existing patch for those two mods, you would use that existing patch when making any new patch that incorporates any other lists, as the CACO-Beyond Skyrim Bruma Patch should have rectified any conflicts between those two specific mods.

Before you were wading out into the first depths of xEdit waters, and now you are starting to swim in the deeper regions of it - LOL! There is a reason why I have 3 times as many hours in xEdit as I do in playing the game - and you are beginning to see why that is! :steamhappy:

After putting in all this work and redoing the steps in the guide you made I'm still having problems and I just can't figure out what the issue is. I'm still growing random items even though all these lists match. I was going to try to post it for more help but I don't see a way to copy the lists into a file. I don't want to quit but now I seem to be out of ways to fix this.

The only thing I can think of is that there is a list somewhere that I'm overlooking, even though I went through every plugin one by one multiple times. What else could I be missing?

Could some of the mods on my lefthand pane in MO2 be causing some conflicts even though they aren't checked? It looks like they would have plantable lists. Those that are on my list but not checked are:

*Saints and Seducers - Growable Plants
*More Growable Plants SE
*More Plants for Creation Club
*Growable Chokeberry

If everything matches up - so that when viewed in xEdit it appears similar to what I posted, then there should not be any issues. Although the changes should take effect without the need to start a new game - perhaps try it on one to see if the issue persists.

I do not use MO2, so cannot say for certain, but that may be a possibility.
