What's the best mod follower that isn't op? Preferable attractive female follower

Most followers are over powered or are very weak in a fight so are there any decent female followers that will be decent in a fight and aren't annoying?

It depends on your playstyle.

You want a Follower who DOES NOT MATCH your playstyle.

IF YOU ARE:

Archer: You want a Tank
Mage: You want a Tank

Tank: You want an Archer

You do not want a mage follower. Annoying? That doesn't begin to describe Mage Followers.

As for Recommendations, outside my customs (which won't help you, more Roleplay then functional) I usually go with Vanilla:

Uthgerd makes an aswsome tank
Anneke Makes an Excellent Archer

Those are pretty much the only Female Vanilla's I will use.

Stenvar and Benor for Males but rarely.

As for Appearences, I used Bjinn for the longest time, but Pandorables has been my go to for the last few years. Both Male and Femaile appearence changes being the main reason I switched over. Realistic without being over the top like Bjinn. I think I use something else for Solsteim a BB mod of some sort. I liked the Dawnguard version too but ran into Blackface Bug I couldn't fix so I uninstalled (I never do Dawnguard anyway so ...

IMHO, followers are always annoying when in comes to combat. They break the fragile ballance or are to fragile to do anything useful.
My followers wait for me at home...

Remiel isn't over the top. She is quite well balanced.
Just be warned: she talks a lot. And I do mean A LOT.

There are also plenty of face replacements for her. I prefer the one with long loose hair.

If you just want a nice looking follower and dont really care about custom voices or quests then check out lazyfollowers. Cant get any better looking then what you desire.

song of the green adds a bosmer archer lots or reskins mods out there. i like her because she stands back

Vilja in Skyrim[www.nexusmods.com] levels as one plays through the game, starting off weak while only becoming mighty if one takes her into every battle and she manages to survive (she only has Essential status if one goes into her 'off topic' dialogue tree to mark her as such).
There are a decent amount of customization mods for her so that one can bring her into line with what you might find attractive.

I don't use followers normally, but if I use one, it will be Serana. She keeps behind, doesn't get in the way, doesn't burst into battle like mad, sneaks and equips a weapon or spell when my char does. Also, she is always eager to accompany my char on adventures. She talks when it is safe and not too much, and warns of dangers ahead. For me she is the perfect follower, and not to forget: she is a beauty!

Yep. I am using NFF to teach helpful spells for followers with high magic skills.

The one I like right know, even if everybody hates her, is Ambriel.
And a few mods to adjust her to your liking.
Because what makes her really special, and I mean really as for unique.
Because she does everything as for combat style.
