It is much faster growth
The Falkreath Homestead has its farm as well as the Anniversary Edition has a much larger farm
Edit: I interpreted "Plant anywhere" as literally anywhere, just plant a plant anywhere at any time. I wasn't aware of the mods cited below. I guess I shouldn't have made an extremist statement along the lines of "Never". I really should know better by now.
I recommend you read through the postings and decide if the risk is worth it. Definately make a Save Backup before adding to your current modlist (But that should be your standard operating proceedure for any mod adding mid game or at any time).
That mod is safe to add midplaythrough (I use it myself and have for years). HOWEVER - due to how it is implemented, it is probably not what you would want (as the steps and materials needed to construct a planter make the whole process rather unwieldy and takes far longer than just moving to another area to harvest foodstuffs); furthermore, the crops take the same time to spawn and to regrow as any of the vanilla growables, so there is no advantage there, either.
Needless to say, I edited it a lot for my playthrough to make it more user friendly and get rid of much of the totally unnecessary complexity.
The mod is more for if you already have an existing location where you are living, than for if you are on the move - and it will not help as regards survival mode due to how it works.
Skyrim has a built in planting system already. Instead of trying to make it a "hyper realistic farming experience" its better to use the game's streamlined system.
Besides, actually growing crops is very difficult. I have a large backyard, with half a dozen planter boxes, and it takes a long time to maintain. With how much you go around adventuring, you wouldn't have the time to "realistically" grow crops anyway. Or your housecarl would do it, and it'd make the system pointless anyway.
The current in game way of doing it is best. I think its better just to make "ingredients farmable" and stop there, and "more garden plots" and stop there, instead of having large comprehensive gardening mods.
