For those getting a 187 error, here are some things to troubleshoot:
1. Triple check and thoroughly read and follow ALL the steps in the sticky on the SSE Engine Fixes Mod page, especially the C++ redistributable step (make sure you installed the correct redistributable and rebooted).
2. Ensure you are running skse64_loader.exe as an Admin, and try running it directly from the game folder
3. Check to see if you have special characters in the path to \My Games that may be confusing Windows or SKSE64. Check C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\. If you see any symbols or special characters in the username, consider renaming the username to something simpler..
4. If you have OneDrive installed, and it is syncing your Documents folder, seriously consider uninstalling OneDrive or removing the Documents folder from your synced folders, as OneDrive sometimes does odd things with folder and file entitlements. You'll know you have OneDrive syncing the Documents folder if your path to \My Games reads like: C:\Users\[username]\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\
5. If you have your Steam Library installed to \Program Files (x86), seriously consider moving your Steam Library to another folder, as Windows doesn't like it when programs write to \Program Files. See: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/4BD4-4528-6B2E-8327
6. Ensure your firewall and antivirus is not blocking folders or files where SSE is installed (both the \My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\ folder AND the folder where the skse64_loader.exe is installed
In this guide look under the section titled "Cloud / One Drive (Saves)":

Hey I had the same error code as many people and tried reinstall ... until I eventually started opening the falling and logs and figured out that SKSE wasn't doing anything at all, turns out my windows defenders anti ransomeware was slapping it the moment it wanted to edit something.
so if you're running into the same issue I ran into, simply check that nothing is blocking SKSE from doing it's job. it's always the simplest fix that works, made me feel dumb when checked it out on a random hunch
In my efforts to fix THAT mess did a lot of work trying to "fix" my game. Well it's a mess now. SKYRIM SE without SKSE works and I can load saves, play saves etc. But now, when I try to run with the SKSE Loader I get the "Trampoline" error of this topic.
I NEED TO SEND THIS OUT TO THOSE WHO ARE HAVING A MESS WITH ONE DRIVE!
I was going through this business of One Drive, and My path to my savegames folder is indeed, as observed above
\Users\[username]\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\
OUCH. So I started jumping through the hoops, but something in the back of my head said, "waiitttt a minute"
I had uninstalled One Drive a couple of years ago. So THAT OneDrive folder isn't syncing with anything anymore. It is a legit' folder on MY Hard Drive on MY SYSTEM.
So in all the analyzing I need to parse all of this and find out what to do here.
Maybe I need to literally MOVE my save games into a manually crated "Documents" folder with the path adjusted in my User Folder to THAT One. No idea.
But I do know this,
NOTHING in this thread has worked to rid me of that error message. Nothing.
AND. When it was all working I had the following set up for the following reasons
I have a mod. Very cool ... Dragon KIller Cart.
By itself just cool but working with another mod "Customizable Camera" I could "spoof" the Cart mod into letting me drive the wagon in first person. This worked for me for YEARS in Vanilla Skyrim and was working fine in SSE util this last week. Then all hell broke loose.
Now I have jumped through the SKSE/Engine Fix hoops until I can just about scream, because each step along that path has made matters worse. Now I can't load a Saved Game in an SKSE modded SSE at all. Yet the same game loaded in NON SKSE works fine.
The ONLY reason I ever ran SKSE at all was to run Customizable Camera which can only be adjusted through MCM which requires SKU UI, which I then use HIDE SKYUI because I actually LIKE the vanilla menu system. I just like a different FONT.
My entire MESS is all because I want to use ONE mod. Just one, and I have to jump through "Hoops from Hell Now" or just give up.
So for everyone looking at "fixing" thier OneDrive. Think HARD. You may already have and don't remember. That was me. I had already uninstalled it, but it was years ago, and I forgot.
Did you ever figure out a solution? I'm getting the same error and nothing is helping. Everything worked just fine like an hour ago but now I get the error no matter what I do.
