First time playing: Miraak keeps stealing dragon souls from me, how do I stop him?

Everytime I kill a dragon it says he steals the soul, im super confused

Only way to stop him is to kill him, but he should not be stealing every soul, after the first time he steals a soul every Dragon you slay has a chance of being absorbed by Miraak, If he really is taking every single soul that's a problem.

Hes taken the last 3 so I may be glitched lol

Once he starts taking the souls instead of you getting them, he will continue until you read the black book that lets you kill him. Or load a save from before you read the black book that let him start taking souls.

you could kill him to stop him. he would not steal every soul,and when you kill him,every soul he stolen will be back to you.

Hi. To prevent this don't do his Temple quest with Freya until you have enough dragon souls. He will not start if you do not meet him in Hermie's realm. Yeah he has stolen more than 3 from me. It happens sometimes.

oh was wondering why he started to take the first dragon soul from me. I have 11 already maybe he thinks i am greedy or have enough. I will see the next time. Havent reached the fight with him yet

Once I went to solstheim, played up to the part where you read the black book that makes you see Miraak for the first time, then returned to skyrim, he was taking all the souls of the dragons I was killing in skyrim too, so I decided to go back there and finish the dragonborn main questline.

You need to go to Solstheim with at least 3 dragon souls (you'll be required to unlock all 3 words of bend will to be able to defeat him) ideally, 6 dragon souls so you can unlock all 3 words of dragon aspect too, which is really helpful on your fight against him, once you defeat him the souls he steals come back to you.

Unless you are using a mod, once you've completed "The Temple of Miraak" there is a straight 25% chance that Miraak will steal the soul of any dragon you kill. The random number generator can be cruel.

See, Xena187, that's why it's a bad idea to necropost. People will start replying to OP without checking the dates, creating a mess.

Before you even start the quest line for Dragonborn make sure you have at least a couple of dragon souls, maybe 5-10. There's a reason for it.
