Horse Tracking Mod?
I'm playing in Survival and can't fast travel so when I "misplace" my horse, I can't just FT to Whiterun to reunite with my steed. I know I can circumvent this issue by just doing the Dawngard DLC for the horse summon, but in the meantime, since I don't want to start the DLC yet (I'm only level 11 and Dawngard is a bit of a slog at lower level/gear) is there a good mod to mark where my horse is on the map? I've spent a little while trying to find one that is **just** a map marker for my horse but can't seem to find one. Thanks.

I don't know any mod that adds only that feature, I always use Convenient Horses, which gives the ability to whistle when the horse is close by, and a horn to summon my horse. I suppose Immersive Horses has something similar.

I remember a mod that added a spell that could add map marker to anything, but I can't find it, I think it was for classic Skyrim (maybe only work on static objects?).

I recommend taking a look at "Simplest Horses" or "Simple Horse SE", they don't have a map marker, but they allow you to call your horse.
However both require SKSE + SkyUi.

Of course, there are also the big ones Convenient Horses & Immersive Horses, but they also change their stats, something you don't seem to be interested in.

Yeah. I've spent a lot of time in-game with mods, I wanted to play through this time without any mods that directly altered anything in game, or gave me any sort of advantages I otherwise wouldn't, even if it's a minor stat re-balance. Ah well. I'll just hoof it until I randomly come across my trusty steed again, or can buy another one. Thanks.

I know it's not optimal, but atleast you should get the horse back when you travel by carriage.

Yeah. It's better than nothing.
You may want to have a look at "Jaxonz Map Markers (SSE Port)" ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14580 ). I have used it in the past to good effect.
