Mystery Spriggan
I was just at a cave called Snapleg, and there was this imprisoned Spriggan which I set free. I have spent almost an hour searching for it outside of the cave, but can't find it ò.ó What is the deal here? Who is this mystery Spriggan? I have also never come across a friendly one before so I just thought this has to be something real special :D

I did this one fairly recent but I can't remember all the details. My assumption was the spriggan was being held prisoner and you freed it so it was not hostile toward you. I followed the spriggan out of the cave and it just disappeared into some bushes. It would have been cool if you could make it a follower.

That was what I was hoping for, a new follower. Or that it would invite me to some sort of secret spriggy area. I swear I have scouted almost the entire area around Snapleg and it is indeed just gone O.O Glad it's free and all, but... It just felt very odd for some reason...

Hey, I did find a sprigg at a location called Clearpine Pond. I thought it migth be the one I set free, because when I arrived it was just standing there for like, half a minute or so. But then it attacked me so I botched it. It was probably not the same sprigg... Or was it?

As far as I know that spriggan is not seen again ALL other spriggans are in general hostile. As for the one at Clearpine pond normally it's just hostile I suspect it was just Skyrim having a momentary hiccup

On UESP there is the following note:

"Even if not freed from the cage, the peaceful spriggan will run to Eldergleam Sanctuary and stand in the thicket near the swimming hole."

Never encountered this, but this might me your Spriggy. If you haven't been to Eldergleam Sanctuary, be sure to take Maurice with you to prevent two hostile spriggans from appearing and kill Asta and Sond.

Oh I had already been to Eldergleam Sanctuary, and done the quest with the tree there. But I want back today and it was completely empty. No Spriggy in sight... Unless they were hiding. I am not giving up. Spriggy is out there. Somewhere.

there are a couple of similar events, like one dungeon has captive vampires that cut up their prisoners but won't touch you if you don't bother them. They will even talk to you, sort of, mostly insulting stuff like 'cattle' but you can't get a pet/follower etc or any kind of info from them. They vanish if they win or fall down if killed in the fighting. Nothing more to see.

I have taken a look in Eldergleam Sanctuary with the Creation Kit. There are 3 spriggans placed there, 2 are green markers (the hostile ones) and 1 is an orange marker. The orange marker is to the left of the wooden bridge where you can see Sond sitting on a ledge. There is an enable marker attached to "Spriggy", which probably should have been enabled when Spriggy is released, but is not! I think Spriggy vanished in thin air!

The Spriggan stands in front of the entrance, but maybe it despawned already. How the game functions, the Spriggan simply teleports away towards the destination when you move out of the cave. If you target her through console commands, and when out of the cave and use "moveto player", she will teleport back to you. Then you can follow her towards the location where she just stands still. Kinda sad you can't have her as some kind of follower.

Eldergleam Sancturay is completely empty in my game o.o And it has been that way ever since I did the quest with the tree in there. No Spriggy or anyone else in sight anymore. Quite spooky. Maybe Spriggy murdered them.

I have taken a closer look into the various activators and scripts. When Spriggy (I love the name!) is free and Snapleg Cave is cleared, Spriggy runs for the exit and disappears. Actually she is disabled after entering a trigger. Maybe she was supposed to move to Eldergleam Sanctuary, but will never happen. I have not found any script in which she would be permanently removed from the game. You could try the following if you want Spriggy as your companion.

Before using the console, make a hard manual save (not a quick or autosave), so you could always revert to that save if it doesn't work. Then use the console with the following commands in the order as given (use Enter at the end of each line):
prid 67698 enable addtofaction 5A1A4 0 addtofaction 5C84D 0 moveto player

I couldn't get the first to work unfortunately, "prid 67698". But I thank you for trying to reunite me with Spriggy. It means a lot! Oh Spriggy... Where art thou?

Sorry to hear! Then there is some script I may have overlooked. I really like the idea and will see if I can find a solution (separate mod).

Edit:
Already finished the mod. Spriggy will be a unique protected NPC and she will be in Eldergleam Sanctuary after Snapleg Cave is cleared and the quest "Blessings of Nature" is completed. Now I just have to test it.

Spriggy actually runs of to Eldergleam Sanctuary as John wrote. I followed her, but on her way she got ambushed by spiders and actually died before reaching the bridge near Darkwater Crossing. There were no enemies in sight, maybe it was the effect of the poison of the spiders. The mod I created sofar worked fine, but I couldn't get her as a follower, simply because she has no voice type that is required for an NPC to become a follower. I should have anticipated that, as I once used a giant as a follower and had to give him the Orc voice type.
So it requires some experimenting as I don't like to give Spriggy a standard female voice type. But, I like the idea too much to abort it. May take some time.

Well yeah, you gotta assist her a bit :P
