Azura's Shrine on survival
So, I just started my adventure in Skyrim, and hit it off with survival mode, cause the immersion I love, but... is it possible to reach the Shrine of Azura and come back without freezing to death if you're not a Nord or Khajiit? I'm wearing fur armor, riding a horse, tried to use torch, eat snowberries, drink spiced wine and nothing helps. I reach the place, speak with the woman, and freeze on my way down. One thing I hadn't tried is eating hot food, cause I don't have fire salts. Will hot food keep me alive? Or maybe I should wait for higher level to have even more health? (I already have 250 hp). Also, if I have problem with Azura's shrine, will I even be able to reach Greybeards? Sorry for bad English, me no native.

1) Hot soups help a lot. So start to stash Fire Salts as much as you can.
2) There is a creation in the CC called Camping. It allows you to set a campfire anywhere in the open world. Near that fire you'll get warm and get an opportunity to travel some more distance. Then make another campfire.
3) Mods of course.
4) About Greybeards. Particularly Paarthurnax's area. USSEP placed some fire places there to let people survive. And USSEP is always recommended even if you want otherwise modless playthrough.

What is the maximum possible warmth rating?

1) 54 from chest piece
2) 29 from head piece.
3) 24 from feet.
4) 24 from hands.
5) 25 Nords racial bonus.
6) 50 when holding a torch.
7) 25 from hot soup.

It's 231.

About Fire Salts. There is no easy way to collect a lot. Basically you always should visit every alchemist whenever you are in the city. And also Khajiit caravans.

But also you can produce it using the Atronach Forge. The ingredients are:
1) Salt Pile (usual salt).
2) Soul Gem (any size).
3) Ruby or Flawless Ruby or Silver Ruby Ring or Gold Ruby Necklace.

So gather all the rubies you can too.
Yeah build a campfire halfway up and use that to keep yourself warm on the way up and way back down
Well, that place is inhospitable. That you're having troubles with it clearly shows it. I have to add that using fire salt as a primary ingredient for hot meals is something that is not balanced. It would be nice if there were other alternatives such as a tea based on canis root ...

A tip that others did not mention yet is that you should not travel if (1) it's night and (2) a blizzard is going.
Ah, I completely forgot about the fact I can make a camp fire! I should survive with that no prob. Thank you for all your advice!

Unbalanced in a bad way or a good way? Imo it is balanced good enough by the fact that it is kind of hard and expensive to get a reasonable amount of Fire Salts. And Hot Soups usually run out quickly.

True. And also a rain. In a rainy weather you lose warmth much quicker too.
