Not only that, every game since daggerfall has brought reoccurring characters from previous installments, and every installment has moved up in chronological order.
Helseth and barenziah wouldn't be in control of morrowind without the canon ending of daggerfall and the warp in the west, and thus helseth wouldn't send assassins after the nerevarine which kicked off his journey that led to the death of sotha sil and almalexia.
Morrowind even mentions the gates of oblivion opening and a main character caius cosades is recalled to the imperial city because of unrest and rumours of assassination.
Without the ending of oblivion, Titus mede wouldn't have become emperor and without the oblivion crises the empire itself wouldn't be on rocky ground to allow the thalmor and dominion rise to power. The great war and Skyrim civil war wouldn't be possible without it.
Since daggerfall to Skyrim, every mainline game has been direct sequels.
I wouldn't. One follows the other, but they are part of a series, but I'm guessing we are going to have to disagree.
Still doesn't take away from the point, which is Todd is smuggly giving interviews to reporters saying things like "Somebody needs to make this game"....
Todd should have made the game ten years ago, and since it has only just left preproduction and entered into the early stages of product, Todd should be apologising to the fanbase, not being making facetious comments about somebody else doing his job.... as if he wouldn't sue anybody who even tried....
He was having a laugh at himself, you do understand that right?
He knows perfectly well that TES is long overdue for a new installment,
Also, I have to agree with psychotron. In regards to the “grand series of events”, they have been sequels to one another.
The events and outcomes of one directly tie into the story/world/characters of the next…and that is - by definition - a sequel.
