Does anyone know the console command to remove default clothing?

I'm doing a necro playthrough and I'm using mods to allow me to control my thralls equipment but when I place a perfectly good legendary ebony set on my thrall he equips it but the moment we go through any loading he goes back to orcish armor( his default) so I'm wondering now if I remove his default armor maybe he'll keep the ebony armor

He'll simply just generate a new armor out of thin air. There are ways to do it by letting them keep one piece of their own armor, but it looks really off. I would say, take him along to your workstation, let him incap, take the armor off of him, upgrade it, and give his own armor back.

That or use mods of some kind.

I think I'll use mods as I went through a lot of effort to make the ebony armor just for him so it'd be a real shame if I have to do that sh#t again

Something similar is any follower with bows, you can give them any bow and it'll SAY its equipped but when they actually go to use their bow it switches back to a regular Hunting bow

Yeah I had the same thing happen to me when I first started playing Skyrim, pretty annoying

Erm would jus like to say. i haz Serena, I use her as a "mule" I noticed, if i gave her weapons, she'd equip 1 right away, and keep useing it, I also gave her a mana helmet, and she put it on and keeps it on, she's also equipped the heavy gloves i gave her.

I didn't physically equip any of em, jus dump an run.

There's no console command for that, and as said before, if there was a console command, an NPC would revert to their default weapon (and armor). You will definitely need a mod, or create one yourself, which is not that hard actually and relatively simple.

I have not used the feature myself...but there is a spell added with AFT...'tweak make follower' or something...you might be able to use it on your dead thrall and then manage their outfit...might...

Thanks but I find a mod that seems to be working perfectly right now if anyone wants it its called Simple Thrall Management
