Purple "texture" (vanilla game)
Hello,
Like some of you I've had this purple "texture" problem. I've seen everywhere that this is a mod problem, however I never installed one, my game is vanilla. It's always the same things that are purple (barrels, tables, chairs, some lanterns...). I've tried to recheck the game files on Steam, remove some ini files in Skyrim folder (put them back after), reinstall the game, put my graphics on low... Nothing works. Have some ideas ?

I've uploaded a screenshot if it can help :

Many thanks !

Stop messing with .ini files. Purple is missing textures and verifying game files through Steam should resolve the issue. Since it does not, you must have had mods and there are remnant files left over, so it might be best to do a full vanilla re-install.
In the pinned topics there are guides to do this. In short you will delete your root folder and documents game folder then reinstall.

Purple things means missing textures.

Normally, this is associated with mods because improper installation/removal of mods can result in the original textures getting deleted or the “path” to that object’s texture somehow gets changed.

How this could occur on an entirely vanilla game…my only guesses would be that either the texture files got deleted somehow, or they just never installed properly.

If verifying the integrity of the game cache and a basic reinstall didn’t work, you may need to do a full wipe of the game and all associated files/folders and try installing it again.

As I said I never installed any mod, as I always play my games full vanilla.
I followed the entire guide and it worked ! I now have a HDD partition only for Skyrim lol
Thanks to all !
