DLL Error (SKSE)
Hi there,

im pretty new to modding this game. Currently i downloaded and installed SKYUI (current version is 5.2 for me), MCM Helper SE, Race Menu, XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended, Fores New Idles in Skyrim SE - FNIS SE and Sex Lab Framework (its optional but i followed a guide to help me through this so far).

The next step is i need to start it with SKSE (im using Mod Organizer 2 btw) through MO2. Everything is fine so far but im getting the following error when im running SKSE:

MfGConsole.dll: LE Plugin cannot be used with SE
SexLabUtil.dll: LE Plugin cannot be used with SE
StorageUtil.dll: LE Plugin cannot be used with SE

I googeled a bit and according to Reddit it people says there is a PapyrusUtil (or something like that) that need to be deleted/hide(?) and i should look for the StorageUtil in the Plugin folder and right click something (i forgot that part). The problem is StorageUtil is nowhere to be found.

About the other 2 errors i have no idea.

Do i miss something else? Meaning if i need to download something else in order to work properly.

PS: I had another error related to RaceMenu which i could easily fix it.

Edit: I forgot to mention that im using Skyrim AE.

It looks like you are using several mods that are not for Skyrim SE/AE. "LE Plugin cannot be used with SE". "LE" stands for "Legendary Edition" which is the old, 32-bit version of the game as opposed to the 64-bit SkyrimSE/AE. This is particularly important with skse plugins & .dll files because they tend to be very version-dependent and Oldrim and AE have some big under-the-hood differences in their programming.

You need to vet your entire modlist, get rid of every mod that is not expressly for SE/AE, rebuild your modlist with the SE/AE versions of your mods, and start a new game because the great likelihood is that your save file is corrupted (even if it starts). And make sure to doublecheck that you are using the correct version of Skse64.

Thanks. I looked around on internet. Couldnt find anything auf MfGConsole or StorageUtil but i found a "newer" one for the SexLab which i installed it and the dll errors were gone now. Seems to be fixed. However once i start SKSE through MO2, nothing happens now.

The SKSE version and game version are aligned, so this is ok.

Please check your MO2 settings to see if the executable is used properly. Click on "<edit>" and ensure SKSE is using the launcher you've installed.

I redownloaded the current SKSE again (which is the same as i used before). The bottom one skse_loader application was just shortly before i made a post here to see if it works now. Normally the "correct" one is the top one.

Sry to drag around because there are way to many website with "different" guides with so many tools and with so many mods. So im getting little confusing :D

The paths "binary" and "starts in" (since your MO2 is in german, you have to translate it at your own or check my image) should be correct. The "binary" is meant to be your skse_launcher.exe (should be in same directory as SkyrimSE.exe). Then the "starts in" is simply the folder where your skse_launcher.exe is placed.

I have the same and i already deleted the 2nd one (it was only a test). It fixed now because i redownloaded the MO2 again which works properly now. For some reason my other MO2 couldnt recognized the skse nor any tool/mod at all. The newer one however works.

Now i have a another problem :/ The game (through SKSE) starts fine. However when i start a new game im getting a strange bug. The chars in the scenes are gone(?) and the horses stuck at the gate (it doesnt open nor anything happens at all at this point). So i started the "Generate FNIS for Users" and i got this message there:

I already tried to find any solutions but no luck so far. Already tried to "Delete Creatures" in the application but it still present for unknown reason.
if you use MO2, there's "Data" tab at right. You can see which files are present, to be used by the game. you have to check which mod(s) are leading to those hkx files. It is clearly a problem with a (or multiple) SexLab mod(s). You have to ensure that what you are downloading is actually meant for SE (this game), not the old skyrim, aka LE.

The hkx files mentioned in the logs are for LE, not SE (this game)
Thank you everyone. I managed to fix it by completly uninstall the game, delete all remaining files not related to the original game/data and then "cut" the steam folder from the programm files (x86) to a seperate folder which is outside of it. After that i installed the game completly fresh to this new folder. However before i launched MO2 again i had to delete the Mod Organizer 2 folder which was located in the AppData folder. Was very important as MO2 had the "old" data before i uninstalled the game and deleted the remaining files. This can mess around a lot of things which i wouldnt risk it.

Once i launched MO2 again i had to redo every step i did before and it finally fixes it. The game through SKSE starts properly and the game doesnt glitch around anymore.

A couple few last questions though:
1. The SexLab tab in the game needed to be install but it doesnt start(?) because i dnt have the creature pack? It is requiered to work everything properly?
Edit: I managed to fix the install problem. Yet in the install tab SexLab Framework idle, Creature Pack and Creature Pack Idle has a questionmark behind them which means i missing them. I tried to install Creature Pack but then im getting another warning from Generate FNIS for Users.

2. Any other "important" mods/tools/whatever that i absolutly need that would help without having problems in the future?

The game updated a day or 2 ago making the skse obsolete.. 2.2.3 no longer works, you need 2.2.4 and then you have to update all mods that need updating. Some like sexlab have not been updated, and before you ask, who knows when, because a lot of mods have not been updated in years.
for those who needed to get back to version 1.6.640 BY STEAM and make your mod working again, follow theses steps

1. Press Win+R, paste: steam://nav/console

2. In steam console, paste:

download_depot 489830 489831 3660787314279169352

previous resources will download to [...]steamapps/content/app_489830/depot_489831

Wait for it to finish. Then paste:

download_depot 489830 489832 2756691988703496654

previous core resources will download to [...]steamapps/content/app_489830/depot_489832

Wait for it to finish. Then paste:

download_depot 489830 489833 5291801952219815735

previous exe will download to [...]steamapps/content/app_489830/depot_489833

Just copy the files/folders from those directories into your skyrimse folder and overwrite the "new" ones.

REMEMBER TO SET SKYRIM NOT TO AUTO UPDATE UNLESS LAUNCHED WITHIN STEAM! (since you will be using SKSE technically will never launch)

DON'T FORGET TO USE THE SKSE64 THAT WORK WITH VERSION 1.6.640 IF YOU DONWLOADED THE NEW VERSION of SKSE64

was having this exact issue and no one could explain in any other forum or whatnot what my issue was...You explained it perfectly....
im years late but it is most likely PapyrusUtil - Modders Scripting Utility Functions
make sure to download PapyrusUtil SE - Modders Scripting Utility Functions instead. only enable the SE version
