SKSE 64 Loader Can't find Skyrim SE.exe
Fellow Adventurers:

This is Indy. Greetings from Canada!

Could one of you kind souls please help me with the subject line problem? I had SKSE yesterday, but now, it's flown the coop.

I'm thinking of moving the Skyrim SE.exe to another drive.

Question: Will this move help?

As we speak, I'm suffering from Skyrim withdrawal. I will entertain all thoughts, ideas and brainstorms.

Thank you kindly for time. I remain,

Sincerely yours always,

Indy.

You mean SKSE isn't there? Try and check the game folder. if you don't see skse_loader.exe then something has happened, and you need to reinstall SKSE. If it's still there, update Vortex again, they released 2 updates, one that broke SKSE and another that fixed the previous update's mistake.

It was there yesterday. My character was in the Sleeping Giant talking to Lucien Flavius. That was the last time I had it.

What would happen if I reinstalled Vortex?

I fixed it! I clicked on the SKSE Loader file and, bingo, it was all back again! I hope and pray that it stays! I thank you kindly for your help!

I hope you didn't go away yet. I lost my SKSE again!

Search your PC for all copies of SKSE installers. DELETE. Uninstall existing SKSE installation.
Restart PC. Open Steam. Find Skyrim SE in your Library, right click on it, and select Properties. Select Verify Files. When finsihed, open Log in on Nexus Mods, and verify that by logging in on Vortex. Dashboard opens, choose SkyrimSE to Manage Game. Then select Mods down left list. The "Bell" icon (notifications in upper right) should start telling you that SKSE is not installed. Open Mods drop-down list above for SkyrimSE. Select "Top Files". Select the picture for SKSE, and then select ModManager Download. Vortex should auto-download and install the version for SKSE64 (for Skyrim 1.6.4) and then tell you it is installed. Check Mods to the left again to see it in your mods List. From there get the Unofficial Patch Mod and SkyUI Mod to start adding to your game. Each time selecting ModManager download.
I had to do this myself just to get mine up and running again after Steam did all their updates and stuff. Make sure that ALL versions of SKSE were deleted before you start the new pathway. When I tried it, Then Steam told me there was a problem with the "Cloud", and I had to go back and Verify my Files to get the cloud updated, and then it worked correctly. Sigh.
