I did several companion play throughs a few years ago just to see how they would interact with different quests and things, and most of them were a severe disappointment, and/or unfinished.
The mod is now fully voiced, every line was replaced. The goal was not to sound like Laura though, but to make Serana a more in-depth follower, and it does that very well. She is quest-aware, location-aware and player-aware. She will make comments about your skills and apperal, she even has opinions on certain armor she can wear. She has banter with several followers, vanilla and modded as well.
Take it from somebody who didn't like Serana before, I love this mod. The depth it adds to her character is awesome, and I actually like having her around now. I would give the mod another chance, provided you're starting a new game.
And what route you choose when starting Dawnguard after reaching Level 10 or greater as to start Dawnguard, you would need to do some Level Grinding to trigger the Vampire Hunter Rumors.
But I used SDA for a very long time because the mod is that good. Very well done indeed. Like just about anything else in this game it comes down to personal choice. Your game your way thanks to mods.
Whelp. File Manager says my .esp was added in 2021. Seems it's been updated several times since then.
I had Indigo and Sofia interact with her, IIRC, and I wasn't impressed with either. Buncha worthless, very repetitive, drivel.
I didn't particularly care for the voice actor much either. It's been a few years, but I seem to recall the voice actress trying and failing to sound sexy.
Interesting that she's not listed under my download history on Nexus, but if I go to the nexus page, it gives the "You last downloaded a file from this mod on 13 Sep 2021" message.
Maybe I'll give her another try if and when I'm in the mood to try Skyrim again one of these days.
You don't need to be level 10, you can head to Fort Dawnguard at any level. It's only a few quests in before she becomes a permanent companion.
I can agree with that, it's all a matter of preference, SDA does indeed change her personality to something that is different from her intended one, however I like her new personality better.
Never tried her with Sofia of Inigo, but I like her conversations with Auri, and yes, if you decide to play Skyrim again I would give it another chance.
Exactly. I feel Laura bailey did a great job of characterizing Serana. She's smart, mature, a bit witty, and a bit classy. And although she can be sexy she's not projecting sexy in her voice which usually I might not knock but it just seems so out of place coming from her voice. All that said there's no doubt SDA is very well done as a whole.
My gallery team currently consists Inigo, Lucien and Remiel. Serana will be added to it.
I tried Xelzaz, but he did not fit to current character build and I would appreciate if he would be made aware of bathing mods. I didn't need him to march in to my bathroom to say that I am indecent while my character was taking a bath.
All and all follower mods can commentary has been taking big leaps. SDA has been in the middle of it, connecting to other mods from left and right.
So, we could see more dynamic content updates for the SDA mod including Skill Leveling, Hearthfire Adoption Dialogue should the play take in 2 children in Skyrim, and more?
Yeah, not a fan.
It doesn't really matter who she's connected to, unless it's a collaboration with the mod authors that made the mods she's "connecting" to, the author of SDA is only going to be able to pull dialogue that already exists, which makes the conversations generic as hell.
Did I do something wrong because the Extended Serana Being Cured of Vampirism dialogue didn't show up or do I have to wait a few days for her answer before continuing?
One thing I was careful of doing in the Dawnguard Vampire Hunter Side was NOT to bring up her Vampirism Prematurely during the Dawnguard Hero Story as that cancels out her Cure of Vampirism Arc.
