Follower Valdimar missing...

Please help, I've read so many threads and tutorials but nothing is working. The only thing I've managed to do in the past is make a new copy of him.

Valdimar has been following me since I got him, and he disappears all the time. I've tried all the command codes I've seen, visited his city, the homestead, and retraced the mines he went missing in countless times.
I don't want to make another copy of him again, he has good weapons and whatnot.

Any advice?

Making copies of him will only make the thing far worse. I strongly recommend against that. You will just end up borking the game.

You can use console to move in to his position, if he gets lost.

He is likely trying to head in to Lakeveiw Manor instead of Windstad Manor, due to incorrect destination mark. If LM is not available, he might be slinging in Helgen and probably fight bandits when you arrive.

His incorrect destination marker has been fixed in Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch. But if you have done copies of him, then there might be several instances and broken calls all over the game.
