Like FNIS, Nemesis needs to have its behavior updated and then generated if you want to inject various animations into the game.
Not every mod that requires Nemesis to be run this way will have a toggle-able patch, but you will see Nemesis account for the mod/animations when you generate the behavior.
For example, using Immersive Animations will not have a special patch that will appear in the window to select, but it still requires you to run Nemesis and you’ll see it appear on the list of mods that show up in the lower half of the window once you tell it to generate behavior.
Most animation mods......
Check if any of the mods you are planning on using require one or the other.
If they can run with either, then go for Nemesis, since FNIS is no longer updated by Fore, and gets updates sporadically by the guy who took it over.
They won't appear in the list. When you run the engine, it'll automatically pick up the mods.
The tick boxes above are just for specific mods, some of which you don't even need to download the mod (Like re-timed hitboxes)
Like if you grab a mod that replaces the various animations for using a greatsword with new ones, it usually doesn’t require FNIS/Nemesis.
But something like Immersive Animations, Immersive Equipping Animations, EVAGT, etc that add entirely new animations for things the player/NPCs didn’t already have animations for (harvesting, lockpicking, reading a note/book, vaulting over an object, shivering when cold, etc) those types usually do require it.
Since I'm rebuilding the whole list anyway, thought I'd give TruDirectionalMovement a go, so I imagine the "newer, updated" Nemesis would be the better option.
I admit, i don't know anything about the sex mods, only what i had to read for Obody Standalone, but i imagine that still holds true for them.
Is a staple mod for those of us with a controller. Certainly allows a lot more freedom of movment when using one
So unless you have a desire to hump a skeever or get porked by a bear then you should be fine just using Nemesis.
TDM is an amazing mod btw, but it’s only really relevant if you’re trying to play exclusively in third person. I’m not sure what the benefit would be to using it if you still use first person.
Also, apparently there’s going to be a new animation utility coming out called Pandora some time in the near future.
It’s supposedly going to have all the benefits of FNIS/Nemesis, do more than either, and have none of the issues that either can/do have. So it’ll be interesting to see what that does.
ranged combat..close in 1st person view...
close quarters combat...pull back for a ranged view
On that note, since it was mentioned. I'm still using DAR. Is it really worth it to transition to OAR? And if so, is there anything I need to look out for?
