no sound no music

Start to boot up Skyrim and it loads in the background I can hear the menu music, but when i click on the page the music stops, and when I load in any of my saves there is zero sound. Just want to know if anyone else has/had this experience and knows how to remedy it.

I’m currently having the issue with no sound as well. Ever since I upgraded my gpu I have had no sound. All my other games work except for Skyrim.

I also started having problems with sound after installing a new GPU. What worked is setting the game's resolution to my desktop resolution of 3840 x 2160.
The game still sometimes starts at a lower resolution in a corner of the screen, but quitting and restarting fixes it. But at least the no sound problem went away.
I'm guessing it's a Win 11 problem, as it's a crappy piece of software. Explorer fails to load on restart despite setting it to do so, a known problem that was caused by an update about 6 months ago but still hasn't been resolved.

This happens on my setup. My startup forgets I have earphones so I tab out and switch back to ear phones. I am on win 10. I really should look into it but then I start playing and forget until the next time I start up. Good Luck.
