NPC's no body, only head/feet/hands

Okay, I'm starting a new game, I installed a bunched of mods. I used Vortex and I launched the game with SKSE64. When I took my first enemies armour, their bodies briefly appeared before disappearing. Only the head, the hands, the feet and the vanilla underwears are there. I unabled all my armor mods and tried again: same results. I unabled CBBE: same results. I tried reinstall XP32 Maximum Skeleton, same results.

Both male and female bodies are having this problem. For now, it's the only mod having a problem, apart from a SoS.dll not being found.

So, I guess it's about my load order ? The thing is, I tried to use MO2, but it doesn't load some of my mods (it says Mod Organizer is not setup to handle nxm links), so I can't find a better load order with MO2.

Do you have any leads that could help me, please ? I'll keep digging on the internet, but after looking here and there for a solution, I'm not finding it.

Is my last solution to load one mod after the other until I see what's creating the problem ?

Maybe first try to use LOOT (Load Order Optimization Tool) to organize load order. You can find the latest version here: https://github.com/loot/loot/releases/tag/0.20.0

Invisible bodies is either from race based texture skin mods and/or you did not run bodyslide to generate them. SOS you need the non .dll version, which breaks the s part so you'll need a male overhaul mod (himbo,sam,ect) to add it back.

I'm using CBBE (the curvy version), never used BodySlide, although required by some mods, and use the SoS DLL version. Never had any problems! I still think it's a load order issue. Maybe a good idea for OP to list their load order.

Why wouldn’t you use Bodyslide if you have CBBE?

You realize this means you only see the CBBE body when your character is naked right?

Bodyslide is what conforms any/all clothing and armor to the modded body - otherwise, it just defaults to the vanilla body shape when you or NPCs have anything on.

Kinda pointless to even use a body mod if you’re not going to have/utilize Bodyslide unless you just run around naked.

I've had the .dll version of SOS working in the past, but it is burger sometimes for no reason. The non-dll version always works.
Invisible skin I'm pretty sure the is a RBT version of a skin mod. I spent all last week fiddling with a few and COtR and just got annoyed with both. I do have BnB RRT working with SPID but I gave up with them on the Bijin mods and went back to Coldsun's works.
This is the joy of modding, nothing comes easy and if it does, there is a reason.

Okay so I just did that (and basically I did everything LOOT told me in those yellow comments under some of the listed mods.

I have bodyslide and I have HIMBO for males.

So LOOT did put a Load Order in place when I started it the first time.

I relaunched the game to see if the bug was still there. It is. When I kill the first enemies in Helgen Dungeon, they still disappear (just a few seconds later).
I noticed that the body we can loot when we enter Helgen Dungeon doesn't disappear when I loot it.

I'll put here my Load Order in my next messages. Just a question: should I have launch a new game to check about the bug or it doesn't matter ?

So, here's my load order.

I know, there's a lot. Funny thing: I've seen some are still listed even if I deleted them (like Immersive Citizens, for example). Don't know why.

Okay so I got the non-dll version, then I had to get the last PapyrusUtil versoin and now it's working ! Or at least I don't have a SOS Warning Message.

If you delete a mod or disable it.
Then you need to load a save before you added that mod or start a new game.
Most mods will be written into saves and still be in game unless you restart or load a save before they were added.

Your missing armor could simply be a mod you removed and kept playing on that current save.

Another possibility and very plausible! I have seen this a couple of times. An armor outfit replacees the skin it's covering. If the armor doesn't exist anymore, the underlying skin becomes invisible, because the game tries to add non-existing armor parts to those particular body slots.
