Bodyslide, slider don't work on the preview
good evening, i decided to get back into skyrim modding and while i was installing CBBE and running bodyslide something weird happened. When I try to move the slider, the body in preview does not change and I have the same problem when I use racemenu in the game. I tried to find solutions on the internet but I found nothing. What should I do?

Are you trolling? Sheesh Dust, put some effort in. Just a little. You found nothing? YOU LIE! You are lazy or trolling. But you have a Judy avatar so I like you either way. :moxes:

Dude the scope of what you're asking; you've simply forgotten how it all works. Mesh objects are composed of faces and vertices, and if you move the vertices it stretches or shrinks the dimensions of the faces. Be it a body, an outfit, a tree, whatever. Bones control meshes, textures paint the faces to look pretty, tada! 3D game resources.

You can easily open up O.S. and map sliders to whatever collection of vertices you want, but If you just want things to "just work" and don't feel like learning? Stick to matched sets - that is, if there's a "CBBE 3BBB" body preset you're enjoying, then stick with that nomenclature when downloading outfit mods, so that batch building your outfits "just works".

It's the mix-and-match approach is where you'll move sliders and nothing happens -- til you yourself map them. What's called outfit conversion. Not difficult but it is tedious and if you don't enjoy doing it, it'll make you irritated.

What should you do? Don't make me say it. RTFM. (please)

Hi, Dust, and welcome back to modding the game! Links to info regarding bodyslide can be found in the BodySlide and Outfit Studio section of the following:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2882867968

Link is from the PINNED TOPIC Helpful Links and References

And just ignore the rude responses - LOL! Every forum has some like that.

If you continue to have issues, someone who is more familiar will be able to help (specifically, look for posts by Ilja or Corinze - both of whom are very helpful).

Alright... But know that I was not trolling, and I make an effort to try to understand the problem I am facing. It’s just that it’s been a long time since I modded skyrim and before on my classy skyrim that sliders worked. and even if I speak English, I sometimes have trouble understanding it when it comes to modding. I don’t try to make excuses, I just don’t often mod.

and yes I could use O.S... But I prefer using Bodyslide.

I will manage on my own from there with the help you have given me. Thank you.

double thanks for what you said about my avatar. ^^

just a little clarification. I specify that sliders work on O.S... But as said, this is not the case on bodyslide where the preview does not update. So yes, I can use the preset... But it makes me a little sad. I keep watching the help you gave me, thank you.

Hey there, Dust - I asked for someone to look in on this and see if they can help.

Please start your own thread if you need some help with an issue, so that things do not become confused (besides it being against the rules to hijack someone else's thread). Thanks!

its strange never seen bodyslide dont working. maybe its broken bodyslide files u download or u just dont peen weights to 0-100 and modding 100 height slider but looking at 0 weight.
Nah this cant be real right? its broken/unsupported bodyslide so if it for 1 cloth/bode make sure u download correct mod and put it correct if whole bodyslide in all cloths dont work... IDK what can say( still downloading oldrim to SE may cause a lot of trouble and reverse.

I found the solution and... I feel so stupid, it’s just that I tested with low weight sliders and not this high weight... and it’s the high weight sliders that allow to modify the body...I’m a fool and I wasted you time. sorry
Corinze Jul 23, 2023 @ 4:31pm
There really is not to much info to go off, so just a few thought.

1-Bodyslide should load after CBBE. Vortex handles this with no issue. MO2 might require an extra step but it's been a while since I touched MO2. If OutFit Studio is working I would assume load order is correct.
2-Make sure you use the High Weight side with BodySlide. The Low Weight is already at the lowest and they will be no adjustments.

If you can record a quick video and post on youtube, that would help a lot.

lol good job

Sounds like you got it running. And no it's never a waste of time. Always better to ask if you don't know. Enjoy.

Glad you got it figured out and it was something simple!
And you didn't waste anyone's time - if someone encounters a similar issue, we now know what a possible answer may be - so all's good!

If you have any other questions, you know where to ask! Good luck and enjoy!

lol wait you were moving just the left side? Well, you did say you were getting back into it and hadn't in a while... and I did say you had simply forgotten how it all works!

Glad you got it working, but also remember OS and BS go hand-in-hand, you can't DO many things in BS, it's just for simple things like picking presets, for actual editing, you need Outfit Studio... it's worth learning!

@ smr, dude keep it light - you might not like my sarcasm, but look at my posts over the last two decades here... historically I have NEVER given bad or incorrect advice, but you take a high-and-mighty approach and yet give out incorrect advice *ALL THE TIME* - or worse, simple advice meant for non-technical types. I don't like the e-peen game but obviously we all know how to play internet jerks --- so let's keep it light, we're both fans of a great game. And I'll try not to point out every single time you're wrong, because you're wrong a lot. ha.

Some things deserve a response - after which the subject will be dropped by myself.

As we always say, in order to determine whom to trust in these forums where anyone can post, individuals should check a person's post history, their profile, and the overall input that a person has contributed to the game and in helping, in order to determine reliability. We welcome help from those who are willing to give it, and who are knowledgeable and respond in a helpful and courteous manner.

My bona fides are easily found. These are those of that other individual:

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197993867346
https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197993867346/posthistory/

The individual says "look at my posts over the last two decades here..."
Well, I would - except their very first post ever in Steam was here (where they necroed an over 2 year old thread to respond) - less than 5 years ago:

Then from May, '22 until January 3 this year, nothing in this forum (that I saw in a quick look through). After that, still very few posts (relatively speaking) in this forum.

This is exactly why there is this:

Now, ask yourself, who do you really want to trust?
