Many skin mods are textures-only. These are usually safe to install or uninstall mid-playthrough. Just to be sure, YOU need to examine what is in your skin mod (I've never used Diamond so I don't know how it is built)--if there is an .esp, .esl, or .esm file in the mod, wait until you are done with your current playthrough before removing that mod.

Did one check and that skin should be easy to replace whitout any issues

As Uncle said - Yes you can in this case (and in most cases as mikko11 said).
Always good to ask if you are not sure.

You should be fine.

Texture and mesh mods can usually be freely added and removed on an in-progress game.

The only issue you could encounter from these kind of mods would be if removing the mod resulted in the deletion of the vanilla texture/mesh - resulting in purple/blue objects or NPCs/your character (indicating that the game cannot find/apply any appropriate texture).

The only kinds of mods that are generally a bad idea to remove or even add mid-progress are typically ones that deal with gameplay mechanics, quests (both vanilla and new quests), or ones that make significant changes to the landscape/settlements (though you have a higher chance of avoiding issues if it’s an area/settlement you haven’t discovered or visited yet), NPCs, and loot/inventory lists.

Texture/mesh, weapon/armor, most creature, item, separate world space, and some NPC replacer (as long as you’re not trying to install multiple ones that change the same NPCs) mods are generally okay to add/remove at will.

If you’re thinking about adding or removing a mod mid-playthrough, always check the mod’s description/comments/bug reports to see if there’s any indication one way or another, or for special instructions regarding removal.

The first statement is correct, the last is something that you should avoid relying upon, as many mod authors do not have a clue as to how the game works, and will say that their mod is safe to remove when it is not, and the information in between those two statements is generally not quite accurate - though it is not quite totally wrong either.

For the complete and definitive information regarding the topic of why mods should not be removed/disabled midplaythrough, see this:
