I have no idea how many additional hours I've spent in xEdit, LOOT, Mod managers etc. and I don't want to know lol.
I mean in my dogs life i think i have spend around 4000 hours taking her for walks, and that's just my share of taking her out for walks. Was that wasted time?, no i had fun with that, she's pretty old now and probably wont be around for another 5 years, but in the years she has left i'm sure taking her for her walks. She likes her walks, and if she's happy i'm happy.
I think it has more to do with the idea of how else that time could’ve been used.
The reality is that while plenty of people have entirely healthy ways of keeping gaming in their life, an equally large amount of people don’t - putting game time ahead of school/work/family responsibilities, personal health (exercise, sleep, hygiene, etc), their social life (friends, spouses, significant others), and so on.
That’s why “gaming addiction” is still a debated topic and one that rears its head from time to time when something happens that gains local or National attention.
Personally, I think it absolutely can be an addiction. While you may not be ingesting, imbibing, or injecting a chemical into your system that your body becomes physically dependent on - many hallmarks of addiction are definitely present, the biggest one being a person’s repeated willingness to damage or negatively impact themselves and/or others in order to partake in that activity.

This is why I quit playing mmo's. I was spendin way too much time and money instead of studying and was definitely sleep deprived. This is made worse if they server time of the game is different from where you live. Too much time spent playing at odd hours of the night.
Do yourselves a favor... Stay away from the so called "free" mmo's.
