Play the game people
This can't possibly be right. 69% of players have completed the unbound quest achievement. 47.6% have completed bleak falls barrow?

Less than half of the players who have purchased this game have made it an hour in?

What it must be like to have probably one of the top 3 RPG games in your steam inventory and have never played it. Those numbers have to be wrong.

The majority of people who own this game have already played the original version ahead of it. So most of them have likely went for mods directly and are playing pretty much everything but main story.

Actually, though high, one thing to keep in mind is that many people played original Skyrim previously, and now, many of those players are using mods in SSE, and simply do not do many of the initial quests (or they never enabled achievements for their modded game, and don;t care about achievements). So a better metric would be the data from Oldrim, which has 88.8 completing Unbound and 75.2 finishing up Bleak Falls Barrow. So, the stats for just those who bought only SSE and never owned or played Oldrim would be a better indication - I get the feeling they would be much the same as the Oldrim Stats (and I wonder how many people just have not got around to playing the game yet?). And, better still, would be just the hours played - how many have 1 hour, how many 10, how many 100 hours, and how many some larger number of hours played.

Still, even if you assume that the stats are similar to Oldrim (and are not going by hours played), it still is surprising that some people never even complete the intro - it can only be guessed why (hardware issues, game issues, some other issues - there are certainly enough, going by what people post in the forums).

And then there are those people who bought the game based upon what other people said about it, only to find that it was just not their kind of game (at least not at this point in time).

EDIT - ihoujin covered it - and in a lot less words - LOL!

Achievements can be re-enabled by using Engine Fixes - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230

Just make sure you read and follow the installation instructions exactly.

90% of players don't care about achievements......
Which is just as well since the game is buggy when it comes to achievements

Ah ok, that makes sense about modding. I feel better about life with smr1957's numbers. I recommend this game to every gamer I know.

i still have to "absorb a dragon soul" in SE.. i have 1300 hours in SE, but i care little for being the Dragonborn so i never do that part of the game...

In LE i did it multiple times, but in SE i just don't care.

great game, still amazed I get pulled back to it after all this time, but yeah mods are the only reason i keep coming back.

I suspect many people received SE because they had the original and the expansions which they had already played and just never got around to playing or even installing SE
Not all players are Skyrim nuts like me and some others here still playing the game again & again all these years later
Somehow this game world got under my skin and I just keep coming back for more
I recently cleared my achievements on both versions for a fresh start
you will notice that with most games if you check their achievements, a good chunk of people simply buy games without playing them because they were on sale or w/e

At the other end, a bunch of the rarer stats are not as rare as they maybe should be because people use achievement unlockers.

I don't care whether people do that, but just saying, it also skews the stats for things like reaching all perks in the vampire tree and having a bounty of 10K septims in all holds, relative to other achievements.

I had a thousand hours on this before I got one achivment.

Why you ask? i played this on PS3 and on PC with legendary edition and modded this version day one. mods disable achievements and i frankly think achievements and anyone who cares about them are silly ergo i never got the mod to renable them. i only got achievements because i added engine fixes for an unrelated reason later on

+1 this right here. I have probably 400-600 hours in "oldrim". Too close to the same on the PS4 and again on the Xbox. I havent looked at what my STEAM hours are. Probably not all that many to be honest. Most of the time I had the game here, I played in on XBox for convenience sake. (Yeah, only 25 hrs here)
