For Windows 11

Type in your Windows search bar "Sounds"
Select Sound.
Select More Sound Settings.
Select Speakers on device list.
Select Properties.
Select Advanced tab.
>Uncheck enhancements.

Yes there are a couple of ways to get there and Windows updates can slightly change things.

You could Type Sound in the Windows search bar on your PC
1. Type: Sound
2. Choose: Sound settings
3. All Sound Devices
4. Speakers

There are 2 settings of interest here.
Format: E.g. 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)
Audio Enhancements: Off

for me the above example for the Format setting works fine on my pc
Audio Enhancements should be off
