Grass LOD in Skyrim AE: please help

I'm looking for a step by step guide to get grass LOD within Skyrim version 1.6.640. I tried many times and everytime I mess up my whole modlist because of this step, I'm pretty sure it's less complex than it seems but I guess I'm too dull for it. If anyone is willing to explain or even link a "dumb proof" guide, I would really appreciate it, thank you.

I did it by creating a new instance of Skyrim using game version 1.5.97.
I added the grass mods to that instance and No Grass In Objects (NGIO).

I ran the grass LOD generation process and captured the resulting .cgid files and placed them in a "grass" folder in my 1.6 instance.
